Custom dash switch

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Anyone installed a custom switch in their dash? I am planning to install duel cameras and want a switch on the dash to switch  between the two. I'm thinking a good spot would be along where the tyre calibration and traction buttons are.. I have found replacement buttons for these on ebay but am not sure how I'd go about wiring them as they seem to have a 6 pin connection. Anyone know how to do it?

Cheers,

Josh

I don't know but I think those switched are NON latching, so whilst pressed the make a connection but once released the break connection.

The BCM doesn't care as it simply watches for a voltage pulse and does its thing but for you - you need to design a latching relay circuit.

Would it not be simpler to fit an on/off/on rocker switch in one of the existing blank positions?

Yeah I did wonder that - I suspected the tyre pressure one was that

Yep, am considering that but I want it to have an oem look and don't really want to cut the original button placeholder - if I could find a spare blank plug I could cut into it and fit a rocker switch..
