Mk3 FL Boot closing problems

Featured Replies

I have a month-old FL Octavia estate and the only real frustration I have is that the boot needs a pretty hard slam to properly catch. The novelty is wearing off when seeing the boot open message and then having to get back out of the car and go and open and slam the boot again because it hasn't closed properly. It does catch but if you lift the boot lid a little you can feel the movement.

Has anyone else come across this? Is this something I can tweak at home?

If it's a month old, why not return it to the dealer and be done with it?

I have had it on a superb II estate - very annoying. Take it back

Yes, I could totally do that. If I could spend 2 mins with a screwdriver rather than having to trek back to the dealer and sit and wait then I'd be happy with that. Just not sure if the boot catch is configurable.

Try not to slam it, instead follow with your hand with slight pressure all the way until the end. IMHO, it must be configurable, makes no sense otherwise.

Found mine a little heavy to get it to mid-point, but closes easily. Sounds like a dealer visit

I find it really difficult to get it to close properly with the dangly thing alone, but I think that was also the case with my previous O2. Maybe it's really just for short folk to reach the tailgate?
