Well, just driven to work with a big :D on my face. Even the engine light has gone out. :thumbup: It will be back though. :doh:

Apart from the above mechanical issue, which should be rare enough occurrence, you have to ask "why?" as well. ;)

Vauxhall did this with the Calibra and Cavilier 4x4 Turbo as the gearbox couldn't take the power in first gear....

Tricky on a non-auto-box I'd imagine though to achieve it. You'd pretty much end up with something that was linked into the drive-by-wire to pretend you're not flooring the accelerator I suppose' date=' that way it wouldnt impact the ECU.

The autobox you're referring to, would that be the DSG one? I'm guessing that if it is & it's showing the gear on a display it should be possible to do some magic in the ECU :)[/quote']

Fully mechnical autobox (old type) modded to solenoid shifting.
