Tailgate water ingress - Estate/Combi

Featured Replies

So I go to the car in the morning after heavy overnight rain.  Open the tailgate and water pours from inside the tailgate onto me and onto the rear loadbay cover.  There's quite a bit of water - 250ml, maybe.

I've had a good look and I can't see anywhere it could possibly get in, because there are no vertical-ish planes to the tailgate that would admit water.  And there's nowhere that seems to be clogged up by leaves or gunge.

Anyone else had this?  More importantly, has anyone else had this and solved it?

(I know there's another thread about water ingress to the cabin/footwell)

Check the rear windscreen washer: the hoses can pop off sometimes.

Thanks.  I'm pretty sure it's not the washer as the water is clean, clear and doesn't smell of additive.
