Voice Control

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Columbus RNS510 was upgraded to a newer version by the dealer I bought the car from due to a "white screen of death" issue.

The new system have the voice control facility, but it does not seem to work, any suggestions?

It needs a microphone to use it. Do you have handsfree? If not, you need to install microphone first.

Hi Linni,

Yeh I've got hands free facility in the car, that's why I don't understand why it won't work?

In this case probably needs VCDS coding to activate voice commands.

If the previous Columbus didn't have voice control, it may also need wiring changes. It depends if the mic is connected directly to the BT module or to the headunit :)

If the car is a 170 Elegance it should have voice control from new.
