Is this the new Yeti?

Which is good if Skoda can do 'Vorsprung Durch Technik',  so from the Arona they learn what the snagging issues are.

If the 1.5TSI EVO is being used as well as the 1.0TSI they can be sure the Engine Management / Software has a drivable car with no kangarooing.

As they need to do with the Kamiq.

No point passing on faults model after model.

They need Fuel Filler flaps that do not freeze closed. Door Seals that seal, and Interior Heating and Demisting that works and means the end of Steamy Windows.

Heated Front Screens as standard would be 'Simply Clever'.

Then Dealerships that know the specs, and the price of options, or accessories like Tow bars, Mud Flaps etc before the Order Books even open,

& when they can be delivered and what servicing is needed when and for how much.

Not Rocket Science stuff.

Agreed, hopefully Skoda will learn from the teething problems of the Arona. The other advantage of the Kamiq will hopefully be that the buyer can configure it to meet their particular needs. Seat insists on having a range of specs that you can buy but cannot tailor to your needs. For example to have a rear view camera you have to buy one of the top models but that comes without rear “beepers”!! My Yeti has a rear camera and beepers and I use them both equally. Similarly no electric seat, my wife likes the drivers seat in a very different position to me, with the electric memory seat each can set it to their preference than pair it with the key fob so the seat etc. adjusts to the driver before you even get into the car - simply brilliant. Skoda’s are just more user friendly than the Seat approach of take it or leave it. It really is the reason I bought a new Yeti SEL with personally chosen “extras" in the last few months of production to last until the Kamiq is well launched - I have a rule of never buying a new car in it’s first year of manufacture until the hidden glitches are sorted, then keep it 5-6 years to gain full value.

.... VW T-cross < Seat Arona < VW T-roc < Seat Ateca < Skoda Karoq < VW Tiguan < Skoda Kodiaq < VW Toureg ....

Could someone kindly point out where the Yeti would fit into this list?  I (and perhaps one or two others?) can only tell the difference between them if they are parked next to me long enough for a fairly close look at the badges.

Why, despite standard A/C are steamy windscreens/windows an issue,

I found it so in the VW/Ford Galaxy, and to a lesser extent in the Octavia,

is this common across other non VAG brands?,

is it do do with the stronger lighter and thinner glass not insulating as well, or what?

BTW

I detest a hot car environment, which may be a contributing issue, but surely the A/C strips the moisture from the air regardless of the set interior temperature.

Not 'All Cars' from all manufacturers suffer the same.  Not all cars from all manufacturers can have the same issue model up-date after up-date.

Odd that Central European Designed and manufactured cars from the VW Group can be so different from say a European Designed and Built Hyundai / Kia or Scandinavian / Chinese Volvo.  Obviously you can get steam window models from them, or old ones with decent ventilation and A/C or Climate Control.

I don't have an issue with steamy windows in my current Yeti, nor did I have such an issue with my previous Yeti.  Both current and previous reside(d) on the front drive, parked facing west (so no morning sun on the windscreen) at an altitude of 600ft on a street on a north-facing aspect which reliably gets and stays treacherously frosty when the much of the rest of Edinburgh (except down by the canal) is noticeably more benign.  If the windscreen does steam up a bit when I first get in the car on a freezing day, it doesn't take long for the max button on the climate control to clear it.  That's vastly better than the ages I used to have to wait for the screen to clear in my previous cars which didn't have such sophisticated environmental controls for the cabin.

That said, a heated windscreen would be handy - but I don't curse not having one.

Reference to condensation issues makes me wonder what people are comparing the Yeti to, or how they have their climate control set.

T Cross, 4110, Arona 4138, Yeti 4222, T Roc 4234. Karoq 4382.

Added Karoq

Yeti an ickle shorter than the Ateca / Karoq which come with removable rear seats if you want to have that.

@ejstubbs

This is a not comparing to a Yeti point on steamy windows but the models prone to that, the ones with door seals that trap H20 for an instance.

My comment was about the car mentioned earlier today which might be a Arona clone & Skoda not carrying over issues like some Arona have hopeless de-misting.

The Yeti is a dead parrot, no more and if it is all good and dry then great.  Skoda should manage that with the Kamiq hopefully.

Well one is putting a 12 year parked up in an unheated shed 1989 300GD "G" Wagen, back on the road for the 40th anniversary of the models introduction,

as an even-more infalliable back up to the 1998 automatic Steyr Puch van, being manual the 617 engined 1989 can be tow started and has ZERO electronics.

Everything still working 100% when disinterred, and driving 100% once a new battery was fitted, required zero other attention, well other than a fill of diesel.

The older I get the less I like electronics in my cars/vehicles.

But I digress.

P.S.

My most likely new purchase would be the Peugeot Burper, or is it Rifter?,

with the proper 8 speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, and good engines, be they petrol or diesel,

it absolutely  ticks ALL my creature comfort and practicality boxes,

except for the decidedly uncomfortable perch pretending to be a drivers seat.

I have now ordered the SEAT TArraco.

WITH 340 BHP to be considered

Looks too low to be an SUV.

I'd call that a sporty 5 door hatch.

Sports Utility Vehicles are just that and Suburban Utility Vehicles are just that.    Alfa Romeos, Porsche, Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes,Lexus etc.

Suburb / Suburban. Outskirts of a City.

So cars are really MPV's Multi Person Vehicles unless a Renault Twizy or maybe a 2 seater.  Or as they were known, Cars / People carries.  Vehicles to carry people on roads.
