Road Noise

Featured Replies

I have a 2 month old Fabia Vrs purchased new, the road noise seems excessive. The production fit tyres are Bridgestone. Is this the norm? or any ideas?

My standard Dunlop SP2000 tyres are very noisy too on some road surfaces so I look at a different make when they are due change.

The standard tyres are a bit noisy but many other makes show an improvement, It hasn't really been a problem for me as i always have the radio on, I took a Civic Type R for a test drive a year ago and the tyre roar was so bad i had difficulty talking to the Salesman without raising my voice.

bridgestones are noisy on other cars as well (mazda 6) and get worse , I didn't notice the noise too much with michelins and new front dunlop sport 9000 aren't too bad

Its not that bad! :D:rofl: :P

I changed the OEM Michelins on mine for Toyo Proxes T1-Rs because the Michelins were so noisy. The Toyos are much quieter.

Me Too

I actually quiet like roadnoise.

I agree, Bridgestones are really noisy tyres. Invest in one of these.....

It was a fair bit louder than the fabia and people complain about that (See above)

But I have to admit the gearbox was lovely as was the driving position! I didn't buy it as the trade in for my Clio was comical.

I run Michelins and depending on the road surface are fair.

What pressures are you running your tyres at?

What pressures are you running your tyres at?

34 psi fronts

32 psi backs

It's certainly a lot quieter than my 3.2 Vectra!

The Michelin and Continental shod cars I test drove had less road noise than my Bridgestone car. Just a bit more incentive to wear them out quicker.

How are Goodyear F1's for road noise?

Running on Bridgestone 205/45r16, Pressure F 2.3b R 2.2b (what ever that is in English?) But after reading from Roger M and his new Vrs Bridgestone seems to be the problem.
