Hi, after owning my car for almost 2 years I've just noticed little lights on the underside of the door mirrors. They come on when I unlock, and turn off a few minutes later. Whatever are they for ?

Puddle lights. Illuminate the area where you step to open the door.

Dog poo search lights.

That’s their purpose, still feel they need to be brighter to be effective. Have seen the Superskoda replacements along with fitting video but I worry that something would break during installation. 

 

As as an aside, does yours have tiny leds by the internal door handles.  

My Mrs has a new Mini Clubman Cooper S and they have them - but the Drivers one has a Mini Logo filter so it throws a Mini Logo on the Pavement when you unlock it, also has an Led light for each handle that illuminates when you unlock it - now that is useful.
