Tyres fitted from Factory

Featured Replies

Picked up my Sportline yesterday and was surprised to see they had Bridgestones fitted.

Most threads on here mention P7's. Maybe it depends on the size that come with the car.

I think that contracts outside suppliers including tyres are constantly being renegotiated by VAG and it stands to reason that brands supplied will change from time to time.

I hope that my car when it arrives in March won't have Bridgestones. Those fitted to the Fabia were horrendously noisy, lethal on icy roads and heavy on fuel. Nothing to recommend them really.

Ideally I'd have crossclimates but that isn't going to happen.

Ours had Continental ContiSportContact fitted from the factory. Not sure whether they would have installed those because it's a 280 PS, but I'm more than happy with them.

Yes they were continentals on my Octy.

When I test drove the two Superbs, I didn’t pay any attention to brand fitted but the 19’s are pretty noises anyway.

I don't think this was limited to the 280. My MY17 2.0 SEL also came with 18" Contisports.

Glad you guys are getting good brand tyres

Seen Quite a few £40K+ Audis with Hankook

It's just the brand they used at the time.   My 280 sportline has Pirelli P7s.

Same as roof or me.

Nothing wrong with HANKOOK, Maxxis etc etc

Nothing special about Dunlop, Bidgestone, Continental, Pirelli, Michellin, in fact some are pretty rubbish as 'Performance tyres / Summer tyres'.

Just a lucky dip what tyres VW Group brands are fitted with.

I'm in Australia and got. The P7s with the SportLine 206. So far no complaints. This replaced the 14.5 yr old Mazda 6 with 275000 or so km on the clock. That had 18's on it and an exhaust so was much noisier. Plus the sound deadening had for lack of a better term dies a long time ago and road noise was sufficiently loud.

Hankook, have been OE tyres on BMW, Ford and a couple others now for years.

They are a pretty good tyre, my wife's little Citigo has them as OE fitment which was back in 2012. I know it's not a performance car but shows Skoda have used Hankook for a fair while as OE.

All my VAG cars have had various makes from new: Hankook on Citigo, Continental on Octavia  Vrs, Bridgestone on Golf R and Bridgestone again on Golf SV.

Hankook are ok and I’ve never had issues when fitted but I would say a medium premium brand but certainly coming on in leaps and bounds.

Believe it or not I’ve not driven mine since coming home from the dealership to test them and I’ll have to wait for them to bed in a bit too.
