Have had a search but can't find any other threads on this - my rear wash on my S3 hatch has stopped working and I was wondering if there's a quick check/fix (wiper moves OK, just no water).

 

Front wash works fine so I thinking it's a combination of living in a hard water area and not using the rear wash so much which may have scaled up the nozzles?  Had a quick look and couldn't see anything externally I could scrape off - I have found a bit of a deposit on the front ones sometimes which makes them squirt all over the shop.  If all else fails I've just had a text from the dealer telling me my air-con is due for a service (?!) so could get them to look at it at the same time.

 

If anyone's got any hints or tips in the interim though, much appreciated!

Common for vag cars to have the plastic fluid supply pipe become detached at one of the joints especially if they freeze. Check your boot, rear passenger, front passenger footwells for windscreen fluid....

 

In case of a scaled up squirter I have in the past used a vey fine needle and carefully applied limescale remover (viakal). I suppose you could add some limescale remover to the fluid (usually citric acid). If you can remove the jet then soak in limescale remover.

Thanks, I have had the same issue on our Polo and found damp bits in the boot.  Will check, but since it's a company car I don't want to pull too much apart.  Will try the needle on the jet thing.
