My dealer told me it would be available here from Week 22 (May) but when I saw videos of it on YouTube it looked flat, boring and mainly monochrome so I preferred the deepset 3D-look of the traditional analog display.

Completely agree, it's the same on vw's, flat.

The Audi version is much better which I hope they put into the mk8 Golf R when I come to change.

As for our soon to be Karoq I think the traditional dials look quite stylish and the wife wasn't bothered about a digital display anyway.

It's a case of iWatch vs tradional Anologue watch. Some will pay the extra for novelty and secondary/tertiary features, whilst others just want a watch to tell the time.

Personally (having used the latest Golf R for 2-week), I like VAG's LCD display but wouldn't pay £800 extra for it. I would rather upgrade the sound-system.
