Are all bump stops the same

Featured Replies

Hello,

noticed one of my bump stops has partly disintergrated.

I looked for replacements on eBay and found a lot of choice!

Are all bump stops pretty much the same? Are they one size fits all?

Oh yeah, gonna get some MAD helper springs too if that will make a difference?

Many Thanks

Phill

Not sure about the bump stops but you might want to consider heavy duty towing springs instead of mad helpers, keeps the suspension standard, I have fitted Munro SP3349 springs (standard for Touran) to both my estates, I tow heavy trailers a lot and it makes a massive difference, tow bar no longer drags on the road,

what do you mean? do insurers see it as a mod?

Don't know about insurance but mad spring are about  £135 as opposed to £70 for a set of HD springs which take about an hour to fit including getting tools out and and tidying up afterwards.

I believe you need the round ones, as opposed to the oval ones............just check visually.

Mine (pre f/l) has the oval ones. however, they are not generally an mot failure, unless they are totally unusable.

I have just stuck mine back together with silicone as it's an old car and don't want to waste money on it.

Maybe worth it on a newer car especially if you are taking the suspension apart anyway........
