Safety Recall for Karoq replacement of A-pillar trims

Featured Replies

This German website https://www.kfz-betrieb.vogel.de/karoq-rueckruf-verletzungsgefahr-durch-kopfairbag-a-681201/  is reporting a recall for Karoqs manufactured up until 19/11/2017 for replacement of the A-pillar trims that otherwise affects the safe operation of the head airbags. It seems the corrective action will take about 1/2 hour and result in service action labels - 70G7- being placed in the logbook and boot area. Does anyone else know anything further about this?

If a UK Recall, a proper one it should be on the DVSA Recall site.

http://gov.uk/check-if-a-vehicle-has-been-recalled

* & there is.

'Trim may peel off in sub-zero temperatures'.*

If a Skoda UK one then they should have it here. Well a Service Campaign Recall Action,

 if a RECALL, they need to RECALL.  Contact Registered Keepers.

Maybe not - my car was built in December, but the VIN is outside of the range shown on the DVLA listing. Perhaps it's just one of the specifications of Karoq?

Ours was built towards the end of November and it isn't affected.

2.5 billion miles of testing in extremes of temperature and that wasn't picked up!

Perhaps a specification was changed after being signed off which rather defeats the idea of testing!

Maybe a Production line Glitch with Robot, Human, Quality Control, or a Supplier Quality issue.

As it is if you have an affected one and the Dealership Employees do not know the facts you can ask Skoda in writing to be forthcoming with the truth.

Honesty being the best policy,

maybe they can do a press release for the Motoring Press and explain themselves.  'Simply Clever' rebuild customer trust, as VW keep on about...
