Sending music to SD card over wifi

Featured Replies

Hi,

Got a Octavia SE Technology coming in a week or so. Anyone able to tell me if I can send music files to an SD card in the car from my laptop.

If I connect the car to my home router will it allow me to see the SD cards and write to them?.

Seen something around an android app that will allow me to play music from the cars SD card.

Thanks

Don't know about the first two or why you would want to do this.

You can play music directly from the SD card, you can import music to the Juke Box from the card if you have Columbus.

Why would you want to send and receive by WiFi when it is far quicker to bung the SD in your laptop?

Am I missing something?

Is this perhaps Media Command. I have it but have not yet discovered what it is for.

Yme,

Mainly so I can lie on the couch and send music to the car without having to go out and get the SD card.

Unless there has been a major change that I'm not aware of, there is no write capability for SD cards in the Octavia.

no. Get a 128GB and fill it locally, it's much faster.

Unless there's been a major change - since when could you connect your car to your home wifi?!

Even if you left it turned on and went indoors, it would auto off after 30 mins or so.
