Ordered mine today

Featured Replies

My first post ....

Currently have a JEEP Cherokee Limited ... PCP deal ends in 2 weeks .. going to just hand it back.

Fantastic spec, comfortable, economical.. but most the unreliable car I have had in 40+ years of driving.

Had intended to get an Audi Q5 S-line, but 26 week order time (and may not even make that) ruled it out.

So looked at Kodiaq ... initially the spec I wanted seemed too close in price to an ex-demo Q5.

Then had a stroke of luck ... saw CarWow advert ... as I knew spec I wanted, filled in the very easy to use Web form .. had 4 quotes within an Hr.

Want back to dealer - best they would offer was £1000 off list.  Usual comments of not making anything, best deal I can get etc.

I then showed them CarWow prices which even included one from their dealership which was £3,485 off list .... they were shocked ... but upheld the deal.

Ordered the car ... even had the 2k deposit contribution, 2 Free Services & the £1000 Free fuel.

So full marks to CarWow.

The spec is:

Kodiaq 190 DSG, 5 seat in Petrol Blue, Black leather.

Virtual Pedal

Adaptive Cruise

Front & Rear Parking sensors

Rear camera

Will fit my own tow bar .... at £400 rather than £840 Skoda option.

Now all I have to do is wait.

Sounds nice Sargan - I think I am going to order mine over the weekend.  Did they give you an estimated time-frame for delivery?

Hi Charlie. I ordered mine from Progress Skoda, at Harlow on the 2nd of January.  It's currently sitting at Emden Docks waiting for a ship. Should have it on March the 1st, so it'll be 8 weeks from order to collection.

That's great - Thanks Markymate - Progress are my closest dealer - so I may be in there over the next few days to order it.

Hope it all goes smoothly and you get it when you hope you do.

Charlie.

If you are well versed on the tow bar integration and coding then no problem. If not then that £440 might seem to become very good value.

Not to mention will it be a like for like... an electrically folding one?

Things to consider if you will be fitting your own:

Will it interfere with the Virtual Pedal or rear sensors?

It will need coding to the car

Personally at just £400 difference I would be getting it fitted at the factory.

(I know on some of the engines they also use an uprated cooling system when you have the tow bar option)

I have had my local Towbar dealer fit Towbars to my car for 20 yrs ... the Skoda Dealer also uses them, and will even take my car there and get it fitted for me.

They use them on a regular basis to fit tow bars.

Yes it has full correct integration into CANBUS the interface board takes care of that.

It is not like for like ... I have no need for electrical deplorable Tow bar ... same as no need for a removable tow bar.  .... overkill.

a fixed swan neck Towbar is all I need.

Like I said lets just hope it doesn’t conflict with the other systems on the car, it would not be the 1st retrofitted towbar fitted by ‘a specialist’ that has.

I have contacted the dealer and the Tow Bar specialist ...........both have confirmed in writing ... that coding is taken care of during the Towbar install by specialist .... plus they work correctly with parking sensors & virtual pedal.

So good news there.

I know you mentioned if it were you would pay the extra .... I look at it that I'm happy with a fixed tow bar, and if that saves me ... looking at costs the electric towbar ..would cost me £490 more.

Factory fitted tow bar is now £860, went up by £10 a few weeks ago.

Did you go for the towbar prep instead @ £190? Not really sure what this gets you. Perhaps the wiring from the battery to the rear of the car ready for the towbar installation?

I haven't ordered yet, but I too am contemplating whether to go factory fitted or aftermarket.

What spec did you go for, can't see it in your opening post?

I went for Edition 190 DSG

I asked the dealer if I needed Tow Bar Prep - they said no, and they use same independent Towbar dealer to do the work that I have used previously - they said no need for prep (it installs a plug in readiness for interface board) ..... the Towbar specialist takes care of all of that.

Date confirmed ... will have car 18 April.

So, you ordered on the 14th February and will get the keys on the 18th April?

9 weeks from order to collection, that's as good as it gets for a factory order!

Was expecting it to be 12 weeks ... so pretty pleased  (assuming it does arrive next week)

My Superb was ordered 4/2/18 and its currently on boat to the UK - taking into account another couple of weeks for registration and PDI I'm reckoning the keys being in my hands by 06/05/18 so your big Bear has come quicker... very good considering they are a popular choice of Skoda at the moment
