FABIA 2005 Window Motor Help

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Would really appreciate some help.

I am looking for a driver side window motor - specifically 6Y2959802

Struggling to find the above part anywhere.

To explain... Had some issues with my Fabia (1.4 TDi 75 Ambiente 5 door) July 2005 registered.

Electric front windows not working.

Went to the inner driver door gaiter and unclipped and re-seated the connector. (no joy) drivers side..... BUT passenger side started working fine so that motor is working.

Changed the electric window switch driver side ... (no joy)... but power is there, it lights up fine, and the central locking button also working.

Chased all the wires back from the inner door loom to make sure no breaks etc and cant see anything wrong.

Decided therefore this must then be the main driver side window motor (unless anyone may disagree?) I would love some advice and very appreciated.

Also does anyone have a 6Y2959802 they may wish to sell.

Thank you thank you :)

When my drivers side went, it stopped my passenger side working aswell.

Found the part quite hard to get hold of but eventually 2 popped up at the same time.

I was also lucky that my wife also has a Fabia so could take off working parts to swap and eliminate non working parts.

Has your cable snapped? Mine passenger side snapped and wrapped itselfmaround the motor and locked itself with a cm left to go before it closed. Should be able work out by taking off grommets and inspecting

Hi Munfred,

Been very lucky and just grabbed one on Ebay.

Been looking for 4 days, nationwide (this is a rare part I am informed)  and out of the blue the 6Y2959802 popped up on a listing so i bought it immediately 45 mins ago.

i hope this is the solution, I really do.

The passenger window works but very intermittently and usually only after I have removed the connector inside the inner door gaiter and reconnected it.

Then it fails again. I have checked all the wiring.

i think it is unlikely the cable has interfered as the passenger window can (when it works) go up and down. Its the driver's side that just wont work.

After the wiring inspection, fuses replaced, and the door gaiter connectors in / out oki-kokie I have arrived at the window motor being the next natural change part.

Massive fingers crossed! :) If this doesn't work then I guess I am off into convenience packs and a Skoda main dealer re-programming cost ££ :(

Being positive :)

Thanks for replying
