Have the door carriers had the sealing treatment?

Hello, yes they have all been done, it really does get wet, no damp on floor carpets so I suppose that's good.

I've read several topics about this and if it makes us feel better the wife's 08 plate Mazda 3 is the same. Slightest hint of wet or even cloudy weather and it's misty windows all around. No leaks absolutely nothing. Also the hire car I had a few weeks back (brand new corsa SRI) was the same. One day it had light rain for around 10mins but I had to have the window open and AC on for hours to just clear the windows. Everytime I turned off the quick clear windscreen it would just mist up even with the blower on it. So it ain't just with older models.

We have an 02 Polo and whenever possible I leave the windows open slightly if it is dry weather with a slight breeze to help keep the interior dry.

Whenever we go driving in it - we also open both rear windows slightly (50mm) if the weather is not too cold.

After overnight rain, check all four doors looking for little puddles on the horizontal part of the door seal at the bottom of the opening.

If anything at all is found there, that door carrier is still leaking.

as on the picture shown above, that is what I have found in my fabia vrs mk1.

I have found this video. looks the easiest to do.

will windscreen glue work?

also is it common to have leaking front doors, it seems to be the same problem as on the rear doors. small water puddles on the front lower door seal.

any ideas?

Not sure about windscreen glue, I don't really know its properties. In the UK we have something called Plumber's Gold which works very well.

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but this page has links to all sorts of data about it, maybe you can find something similar or identical where you are? https://www.everbuild.co.uk/product/plumbers-gold/

Front doors do also suffer leakage, not quite as often as the rears, but worth doing all four doors once you're working on the job.

Cleaning (with something like isopropyl alcohol) the surfaces that you are about to seal is quite important, and once everything is clean and de-greased, be quite generous with sealant quantity.

we sure here have ''Sika'' products, not sure about plumbers gold, but I will investigate :)

but sealing up the doors where the original sealant was... what is your opinion, can I just seal around the door panel as shown on the video above, or should I take it all apart and glue it back together?

does this also mean water stacks up in the door or does the water go into the draining holes instead as supposed?

Just seal around it. No need to take the metal panel off. The water will go out of the drain holes in the bottom of the door as intended.

May also be worthwhile looking at the tailgate or hatch. The rubber sealing strip which just pushes onto a bodywork edge all round the opening can allow water to flow between it and the flange while still sealing well with the tailgate. Pull the strip off, put sealant into the slot the flange pushes into and replace. Very common problem with all makes of hatchback.
