Ok, so first of all im very sorry to raise this from the ashes, but, i do have a valid question.

On my 2016 superb combi, when i put it in reverse i do have the guide lines, and all the other modes, the one which shows obstacles in red squares, the fish eye, the tow hook. But, i have read that if you have a factory fitted tow hitch, and you want to use trailer assist, you need RVC High, in the documentation with all the specs my car was ordered with, i have 161 KA2 VWGROUP KSU "REAR VIEW CAMERA MID", looking at all the available info i could find, there were only 2 options, lowline, and highline RVC, and i have a rear wiper, and the camera does not have the wash nozzle!

So im kinda confused now, i still didnt have time to hook up to my trailer and see if i get the option to use trailer assist once its coupled.. so any help on identifying which camera this is? Thank you all in advance!

Hi.

You need this camera (5Q0980568B) for trailer assist function, plus pla 3.0 and sensors all the way around. (if your car have parking assist probably you are good to go.)

I also made the mistake and ordered a high camera instead of this one. (The price was 20-40 eur difference only;( ) but I didn't know that time...

Thank you, will try to source that camera, and yes, i have park pilot, sensors all around the car.. i thought i just need this camera 3V0827566A and that it would work, before i order anything, is there a way to check out which camera exactly i have now, as i thought all RVC high cameras are the same.. and that only rvc high has all those modes, and guide lines.. sorry if i sound confused, as i really am, if i had time i would just go and connect my trailer and see, but i just dont have the time at the moment..

Also, just seen that its not a complete camera casing, just the camera itslef, so can i remove the one i have from the housing, and just slap this in, and is there a variant of the camera for the Superb MK3 that has the whole assembly, with washer preparation? Sorry for bothering you!

Hello,

I recently bought this camera

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNwV7ng

i installed everything according to sellers instructions :

http://www.aiduauto.com/blog/vw-audi-seat-camera-install-step-b0042.html

Now i have problems with vcds. I cant get vcds to accept coding changes in 6c module. Camera works, but there are no lines and only fisheye view. Also i get boot open error in columbus, but not on instrument cluster. Any help appreciated.

Chance are you’ve coded it incorrectly or it’s a bad camera.

what year is the car, any fault codes, show us a autoscan.

what long coding have you got and what are you trying to change?

what did you enable in other modules as you won’t have 76 but will have 10.

If it’s a mib3 camera you’ve fitted, you won’t be able to code it with vcds.

Car is 2017 estate DSG

Seller says the camera is already correctly coded, but i cant change views and there are errors for open boot.

Seller sent me these instructions : http://www.aiduauto.com/blog/vw-audi-seat-camera-install-step-b0042.html?spm=a2g0s.imconversation.0.0.1b733e5fSoj05H

I try to change to coding 6C (DSG tr.) > long coding: 04840201A2002017000040 as in this guide https://www.cars-equipment.com/base/files/shop-attachments/6495308/44280.-kodovanie-6C-Highline-cam.pdf - same camera part number as mine.

Yeah looks like you’ve coded something wrong.

what did you touch in module 19, 10, 5F? Specifically.

@lukaklaric can you update VCDS to the latest version and clear all fault codes - plenty aren't related to your camera issue and just make it harder to read.

Once you've done that, a new autoscan along with a adaption map from 5F would be helpful

ApertureS - lowline coding is normally byte 19, bit 4 iirc, that seems to be fine in the provided scan.

At this point, the only thing that's concerning me is the software version, it appears to have a version normally used some Audi's and the Touareg. I can't see any obvious scans online of it being fitted to a Octavia/Superb. At a guess, they've flashed the wrong software to it (H18 supports both 4M0...A and 5Q0...B software)...

Yours:

Address 6C: Back-up Cam. (J772)       Labels:* Redir Fail!
   Part No SW: 4M0 980 556 A    HW: 4M0 980 556 A
   Component: RVC Compact   H18 0250

I'd expect something like:

Address 6C: Back-up Cam. (J772) Labels:| 5Q0-980-556.clb
   Part No SW: 5Q0 980 556 B HW: 4M0 980 556 A
   Component: RVC Compact H12 0231

So would I, the 4M0 part number isn’t what I’d normally fit. In fact the 4M0 part number is an older camera version I believe so that explains the lack of options and compatibility.

you are correct about he should have a 5Q0 for full compatibility.

Fault codes are probably from battery change few days ago, didnt clear them. Will do later and post scan

You say you can’t update... so I’m assuming you have a hacked or illegal copy of vcds?

Hy,is this possible in new superb?!

Yes it is, depending on radio depends what camera you need and it needs coding using main dealer software if it is mib3 radio.

Problem solved, found someone with VCP and we uploaded correct firmware FL_5Q0980556B__0231. Now i have 4 camera modes and coding 04840201A2002017000040 worked without a problem.
