Fabia MK1 1.2 HTP (2006) Correct Spark Plugs?

Featured Replies

Hi all, many apologies but new to the forum and have a quick question. Looking to replace my spark plugs and unsure which ones to get as replacements. Engine Code is BMD but this doesn't appear in the Haynes Manual, only AWY AZQ and BME seem to appear in the manual for the 1.2 litre. Popped my reg in EuroCarParts and provided several plugs, just wondering if the attached screenshot below is an appropriate spark plug to purchase? Many thanks in advance, appreciate any help. Screenshot_20180225-193833.thumb.png.321f5008d11601bf18bf968bd8687746.png

Doesn't match (cross-referencing via ECP code and ebay here) the suggested Bosch part in the parts catalogue. Have a look at the item 11s here that suit the BMD engine.

Looks like Bosch F7HER2 or NGK 7FR5P-G are OEM fit options, along with some less well defined by Beru, and Brisk.

The date ranges on this parts catalogue site are confusingly notated in the 'data model' column, I think if you ignore the 20 at the start of each date they make sense. Not sure if anyone reading can explain better.

I had similar issue buying new plugs from ECP for a Vw Fox. I bought the wrong Bosch plug although ECP showed it as suitable.

My simple solution was to remove plug and take EXACT details from the plug. This enabled me to reorder correct plug from ECP. I needed FR HC + instead of FR HE as my Fox was the old 55bhp engine. In fairness to ECP the relevant information is shown under the yellow tab “Fitment Detail”. Maybe worth a look there.

Sorry if this explanation is a little convoluted.
