  • What sort of battery is it? Presumably as yours is a facelift it may have stop/start - if not fitted with a suitable (replacement!) battery for this then it will fail quickly due to the regenerative c

Thanks @VWGDT it was back at the beginning of the year that we had the problems, all sorted some time ago with a new AGM battery. After that there was no parasitic drain. The old battery is sitting in the garage and seems to be fine, the car just didn't like it because it was lead acid, as you pointed out.

Hi have yeti that is on its second battery in two years . I am now on first name terms with the breakdown services.

The car can find its way to the dealership on its own.

The breakdown service say they have never had a worse case.

The car is totally unreliable.

Hello everyone. Seems like I have the same problems with my Skoda Superb 2009, 1.8, DSG. I've changed the battery last year and now I have a Varta but due to the Coronavirus Lockdown I wasn't able to move the car for a week and is the second time in the last 2 weeks when dosent start. Since I don't have a charger and not a clue about the electricity I have a silly question to you all... If, after I'll use the car to go shopping, I will unplug the cables from the battery to save what is charged can I damage the settings / radio code, etc? Sorry for asking a noob question but in those times is no service I can do too. Regards from Spain

Time for a new battery

@Cafe

I had the same with  which I thought was a drain but turned out it was a faulty E44 Varta battery.

Get battery checked by someone with the correct diagnostic battery tester

No problem with radio code it comes from the ecu

Been suffering with a parasitic drain problem on my other car (Mercedes) for about 6 months, think I’ve sorted it this week as I found it had a tracker fitted from new (2006), eventually found the unit and disconnected it, seems to have been better over the last couple of days.  Seems with these units once the internal battery fails it takes power from the car so can manifest as a sudden issue with no obvious change to the vehicle.
