Unresponsive touchscreen

Featured Replies

My Amundsen screen has started playing up in cold weather - it won't respond to touch controls for several seconds (up to 30), then acts as if I pressed the screen loads of times. It's definitely the touch screen that's the issue, as steering wheel controls work fine. It also only seems to happen in cold weather, and only when the car has recently started. By the time the car warms up, it generally starts behaving itself. I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this before I contact my dealer?

A search will confirm its quite a known fact they don’t like the cold

As above, there are several reports of replaced touchscreens from the forum for the same reason you describe.

Touch screen will always work fine at the dealers.

Thanks - is a replacement screen likely to be any better than the one I've got, or would I just be wasting my time?

Mine did it once and then not repeated it in a fair while since.

its a quirk, but if you can get it done under warranty then it’s your choice

I have a Columbus system and share your pain, I tried everything from hard restarting, to cleaning the screen and nearly ending up bald from pulling my hair out. In the end and touch wood what has worked for me is to disconnect my phone from car. Ever since no issues or problems in months, even in a -9 weather.
