Which options don't you use? What would you rather have had?

No point at all having it in that case. Our rear temp is locked by the simple fact we cannot control it, and it was free.

Adults are allowed to use the rear seats too you know!

  • Are you aware of, that not all people have garages? The weather in the UK is perfect for AUX heaters. Cold, ****ty and wet most of the time - just like DK.

  • 1. Launch control. Never used it, probably never will. Agreed 2. Autopark. Used once, won’t use again. Love mine... but mainly for the extra sensors you get 3. Start-stop. Hate it with a pas

  • No, the boat is at the habour in Miami. And I’ll get there by my private jet, of course

I forgot my telly.  Wouldn't be without it now!

The Superb is too long for the garage, Octavia would have just fitted.

Fits very well in my garage along with the Golf :)

Things I'm glad I spec'd...

 - Heated seats (use them daily!)

 - Heated windscreen & washer nozzles

 - Spare wheel (hope to never need it)

 - Rear seat release in the boot (I find it pretty useful)

 - DSG gearbox

Things I added that were a waste of time...

 - The door bin - save £20 and don't bother

Things that weren't available at the time I ordered but would be nice to have now...

 - Heated steering wheel

Thinks I wish you could order...

 - A CD player!

On the Columbus unit in my car, the CD player is in the glovebox. Not sure hetgeen it’s the same for other specs of In Car entertainment.

I have Bolero - no cd player. My Golf has Composition Media (same as Bolero), and the car is built within the same month as my Superb. The Golf has a cd-player...

Both VAG, but not both a Skoda, so the parallel doesn't really work in my opinion.

In any case, the option to have a cd player is there, you "just" have to spec the Columbus unit in order to get it.

Whether or not that's made clear anywhere in the available brochures/sales information, I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if there's no way to get that information without forums such as this.

To be pedantic, the Columbus does not come with a CD player. It comes with a DVD player :)

Why anyone wants or needs a CD or DVD player nowadays is beyond me. USB sticks, SD cards, Bluetooth etc are surely more convenient.

But if you insist, then why not just plug in an external DVD into the usb socket?

Why do some men brag about the size of their assets? :o

Mickey - it looks like you have the same car as me. Is yours also MY17 as I don't (AFAIK) have a tv tuner. I think I read somewhere that it was a short-lived addition to the L&K (MY16?). I really would like one...

My car is a 16 plate Jeff so yes it must have been MY16.

I got mine as an ex demo so didn't spec it as such, it was /is a nice bonus to have.

Would be hard now to move to a car without one!

Parked up in a layby with a coffee, watching Bargain Hunt with the heated seats on.  Living the Dream!  :D

It was more just a reply to all those ‘it does’nt fit’. Was’nt bragging at all :)

The TV was standard on early L&K but discontinued sometime 16/17. My current car (my17) doesn't have it; my old car (my 15) did have it.

Don't tell me - the jet's parked next to the Golf:D

No, the Pagani ;)

I can vouch for GaSelle and his lovely garage  I hope he doesn’t mind me posting a quick picture I took recently:

Cheers buddy. Such a shame you only took photos of half of it. Attached is an inside photo.

(Seriously! I was´nt bragging intentionally; I just found it weird, that people have issues fitting their car in their garages - that´s all)

Although a bit old, i will reply because it might be useful to future owners.

What i have and i like:

Bi-Xenons (the best lights i ever had)

Auto wipers (although i have to find the time to search if i can change their sensitivity)

Rear windscreen wiper (I was frustrated countless times for not having one in my previous car).

Spare wheel (it saved me money and time in all my cars till now).

Rear window sunshades (keep the kids happy).

All around parking sensors with the radar like screen that shows graphically the distance from obstacles and the guide lines that show where the car will be if i keep moving with the wheels in the current angle. It makes parking a piece of cake.

Kessy

Cruise control (not ACC)

What i don't have but i would love to have:

Smart Light Assist (if it works right)

Lane assist (if it works right)

Canton

Tri-zone climate control (would keep kids happier even if it wouldn't worked perfect)

Read windshield sunshade

Maybe bigger wheels. I opted out because the car i tested had 19" wheels and was so noisy that scared both me and my swmbo. We almost didn't buy the car for this. The dealer said that with smaller wheels it would be much quieter and so i took the smaller available. Very quiet indeed, but not very good looking. I still don't know what i would choose though if i was going to buy one again.

What i have and i wouldn't buy it again:

Auto Park (but only if i could have all the sensors and the radar like screen. Otherwise i would keep it)

What i don't have and i wouldn't like to have:

DSG at least in combination with the 1.6TDI. That was the test drive. Sluggish. The 1.4tsi 150 act with a manual gearbox is a completely different car.

Electric tailgate. Kessy makes it almost useless for my needs.

TSR

ACC

Dark rear windows and windscreen. I never liked cars with different color between front and rear windows.

Sunroof.

Pick up the Superb Mk3 SEL tomorrow

Options I chose/items that were included + useful:

  • Tow Bar
  • Pegasus Alloys
  • Adaptive Cruise (can't wait to use this!)
  • Bi-Xenons (love them on our Mk2)
  • Auto Lights/Wipers
  • Electric Boot Lid

Wanted (SWMBO Growled and said no)

  • Keyless
  • Heated Front Screen
  • Front Parking Sensors
  • Smart Light Assist / High-beam Assist
  • Velvet Red Paint

Wouldn't Order

  • DCC
  • None of the Lane/Traffic Sign type stuff
  • Virtual Pedal

Got a little annoyed when the updated (April 2018 onwards) SELs got KESSY and Front Parking Sensors included

Adjust using the Slider on the wiper arm...Auto wipers only work in the intermittent position :)  The slider adjusts the sensitivity
