Middle varioflex

Does the middle seat on the varioflex system slide forwards or is it just the outer 2?

Hey did you pick up your car yesterday?

According to Carwow review on YouTube it's just the outer two seats that can slide.

That's correct, the diagrams on the back of the 3 seats show only the outer seats as being able to slide.

If that is correct (and I'm not  doubting you) then that is pants.

So if you want to extend luggage capacity you either have to carry something that is 'C'* shaped to accommodate the middle seat, or remove the middle (or all three) seat(s) and forego carrying any rear passengers.

Makes me appreciate the boot space/length in my Octy Scout all the more.

*other letters of the alphabet are  also available/suitable.

Exactly my sentiment. The middle seat does not slide which makes an absolutely mockery of the whole idea of sliding rear seats.

Think I'll take the middle seat out when mine arrives and just go for the four seat setup.

I never carry five people so it makes it easier to flip up or remove one seat to get my bike in.

Ypu can fold the centre seat up out the way.

Any chance of a pic please? From memory you chose Business Grey, a most sensible colour if I may say so! (Cos mine will be too)

the only thing I found you can't good out the middle seat all the way up as it starts to hit the back of the centre console

You might be able to if you remove it's headrest maybe??

Me too. Its not silver, but its not grey. I have a black car now. Looks great when its washed - for a day or two! Are you pleased by how it drives? Any negatives?

No negatives for me mate, drives great, no issues with bunny hopping as some have said, feels very upmarket inside, love it so far.

The problem with that scenario for some people is finding a suitable place to store it, ensure it doesn't get damaged, and most importantly, remembering where you put it at resale time!

Or more likely, a scenario when you are out and about and four people unexpectedly require a lift and you only have 3 seats available.

I think the setup Škoda have with the Varioflex system in the Karoq is a flawed design. Other  car manufacturers do a sliding 60/40 split/fold configuration, so it's not as if it cannot be done.

Another photo of business grey, different outside.

Wow!! I love the colour!! :)

Thanks for the posting. I can't describe the colour, but it has a bluey/purpley tinge which is clearly demonstrated by your pic. My Karoq is due to be born I mean built this week!

It’s a nice colour, the engine is so smooth, seems bigger than you think as well, love the interior.

First time today that I've wanted to use all 3 varioflex seats in upright position.... The middle one doesn't go all the way up like the other 2 because of the centre console, yet on the promotional video it has them all in line. Headrest has been removed, am I missing something? Doesn't seem 'simply clever' to me.

You have to push the centre seat back fully down a second time before tipping seat forward.

Yes, I am afraid you are. It does fold up correctly on ours, and it should on yours.

If you read the manual, it details an extra manoeuvre that needs to be done when pushing down on the centre seat prior to lifting it up against the centre console........Tony

You have to be pretty strong to put the cord restraints on the front headrest rods to prevent the rear seats from falling back.

Thanks will try tomorrow. Note to self, read manual more thoroughly first!
