Spec Changes to Superb

The updated Superb line-up is available in the UK now, with Sportline Plus cars arriving in June.

I bet the updated versions are not available now - if you went into a dealership tomorrow and asked for one, it'd be a while before you got to drive it.

It's like my local dealership had an advert for the updated Fabia the day after it was announced at Geneva which said "come down for a test drive today"

...... Rear-view parking camera now.

Does that mean a rear wiper will become standard as well, as the camera was only available if you had the wiper as it uses the rear wash to keep the lens clear?

Yes I think so as it auto selected when choosing the camera before although I don't see why it would be connected.

Yet still the L&K doesn't get the smart light assist as standard. Frustrating for those of us who buy ex-demo or management, since it is almost never specced from new with this by SUK. Hopefully they will sort this by the time I come around to buying again.

They´re connected since the camera has a washer nozzle built in to clean the lens, when you´re cleaning the rear window. And no wiper = no washer fluid to the rear :)

I wonder if this arrangement will continue longer-term (say post-FL). A lot of people aren't keen on the rear wiper on the hatch version, myself included. IMHO it spoils the lines of the car and looks "bolted on" to the hatch, unlike the Combi which wears it very well. I wouldn't mind the camera but would prefer not having to have rear wiper if I could avoid it.

They have now updated the configurator with the new specs and also price increase by 2k basic. I think the L&K is the same. Rear camera included but Wiper optional, secondary USB port as option as now £60

I see that they have the five year warranty at £0 again and no Canton in the price list. I am sure it was £400 extra.

Isn't the Canton standard?

I was not sure but could not find it on the "standard" items at the beginning.

On L&K, yes. £610 option on all but ‘S’ trim

Where have you seen this as the latest pricing suggests 4 yr warranty is £300 and 5yr is £630. Service plan is £279.

I think they are updating the website so it may be inconsistent. Worth checking back in a week or so

Its listed in the L&K additional equipment in the updated price list now:

EXTERIOR
Rear wiper (Hatch only)

190HP version not available in DSG/Manual with FWD !!wtf!

Edited by siemi1

The price hasn’t now gone down again from 22 to 20k. As I said I think they are making updates to the site. Worth waiting a few days until it is finished

Yes. The 190 DSG FWD seems to have gone completely from all models range.

It looks like the Manual 190 FWD is only available in the L&K and SEL Exec now.

Otherwise its 4x4 DSG for the 190 across the board.

SUPERB RANGE

It’s not just the sporty models that benefit from an update. All models except the entry-level S receive a boost in equipment at no additional cost. SE and SportLine models gain front and rear parking sensors, while SE L Executive models gain front and rear parking sensors, Blind spot detect, Keyless entry and a colour trip computer. Range-topping L&K models gain even more equipment with a heated multi-function steering wheel, ventilated seats and rear-view parking camera all added to the standard specification list.

All updated SUPERB models are available to order from 4 April 2018 with deliveries of the new SportLine Plus model expected late June.

Well it pee's me off a little less knowing I had no chance at the updated specs on my SEL - I had to order in February due to lease ending on the current car in a week or 3.  I would have been more grumpy if I my build week was a week shy of the updates.

And the usual discrepancies between the brochure and the options listing in the brochure are evident yet again!!

Doesn't anyone ever proof read these days

e.g. the rear view camera is still shown as a £350 option for all models. So if you are ordering make sure you get confirmation of what is what.

On the configurator. Just checked and it is still there. Model chosen was hatch, L&K. 5 year warranty and service plan both £0.

I know it is a mistake as the last time this happened I asked the Dealer Principle who also stated it was a mistake and said he would contact Skoda UK. Two days later it was off.

My L&K 150 Dsg was built 3 weeks ago so guess I've missed out on the updated spec. Not too bothered as I added the rear camera but had to pay for it. Would have liked wireless charging and ventilated seats but hey ho specs change.

interesting that the 190 engine seems reserved for 4wd. I didn't think it was worth the extra cash anyway.

Got an email from SUK inviting me to watch the new Paloma Faith video. Not interested in that, but when I clicked on the link the image below popped up.

image.png.b606819c8c6ba460bb29740114657f8b.png

So Skoda recognise things are out of kilter at the moment. As Tony says, wait a few days for it to get sorted, or if you have to order right now get the dealer to confirm absolutely everything in writing then get SUK to confirm independently.

The apparent rise in base price, is because the 1.4 petrol engine option has been removed from the the price list. S spec can only be ordered in diesel.

And yesterday my dealer told me that no more orders for 1.4 tsi were being accepted across the entire model range. So that means no petrol Superbs will be built until wk 36 when new engine range is launched (1.5tsi and new 2.0tsi engines)

Note that first year VED rates increase by up to £500 depending on model from April 1 and this will be reflected in the new price lists. When the cars become Euro 6d compliant later in the year, the first year VED will be reduced.
