Is this still for sale?

Took delivery on the 28th May, its a 5 year old car 13 plate and while it is not as well planted on the road as the Octavia 1.6  diesel I traded, it does behave well, steering feels lighter and a bit more twitchy but get it in the right gear at the right revs and it will deal with even the most twisty of twistys there is a sweet spot  @ 20 k revs in third that will hunker it down in the bends, roomy boot 60/40 rear seat split, which I like, so all in all its a small family car and does the biz for me

I took a punt on an Alliexpress Android. Am really pleased with it. Plug and play. I bought a DAB tuner so had to replace the aerial with a amplified DAB aerial. Also bought the facia. Very pleased.

How easy was it to fit? do all the standard car buttons and dashboard screen still work properly? Could you post a pic of it in place? I really want an Android head unit!

Was simple on my car. Prise off the facia, remove 4 screws, pull out old unit. Plug cables that come with new head unit into unit, offer it up, plug into existing loom, slide home, screw in, fit new facia and job done. I did also fit a reverse camera which I slid above the ceiling and new amplified DAB/ FM antenna.

Got myself a "Seicane"-unit from aliexpress. Installation was pretty easy, still waiting for the trim piece.

The only issue so far has been that the accessory power seems to be wired in some other way for the harness I got with mine, as the unit doesn't power on and off with the key. I will have to look in to that later with some help from a multi meter.

I will also try to get the factory AUX- and USB-ports working later, as they don't seem to be directly compatible with the harness either.

The model was advertised to be compatible with the 2012-2013 Rapid, and worked with the mentioned flaws in my 2014 Rapid Spaceback.

On mine there was a cable marked acc. I had to disconnect this to enable power using the ignition switch.

You just saved so much time for me, big thanks! In the harness there was a two pin connector in line witch I disconnected and the power on/off funtion started working right away!

Just wondering after installing the new android stereo, does the controls on turning wheel still work?  Can it control to change music tracks?

Had mine in for 18 months, all buttons on the steering wheel worked as soon as it was plugged in.

Hi WolfyWesty,

Thank you for the response.  Could you share your stereo brand and model with me please?  Or I just go on AliExpress to choose any brand which says compatible with Skoda Rapid 2012+?  Thanks.

Do your parking sensors work? How long does it take to switch on? I've had a few of the cheap chinese ones and they all take ages to boot compared to stock :/

Parking sensors work fine, gives you a colour reading on the screen in terms of distance from an object. Also installed a reversing camera and that works fine too. You can set the display to show you the turning trajectory when you move the steering wheel. and give you the green/yellow/red distance markings.

Doesn't boot up instantly compared to the original Swing radio, but quick enough it's not an issue.
