Sat vav

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2015 octavia Vrs and cannot find how to access the sat nav? I have looked at the multimedia system and noticed the sd card is missing. Could anyone please tell me if the missing card is the reason I cannot access the sat nav or in fact it has no sat nav feature that I thought was standard on the vrs?

thank you.

What model is the stereo?  Is there a Nav button on headunit

Yes no Card no sat nav

Checking an online 2015 brochure Nav is an option, not standard.

Nav is standard on the 2016 model vRS, but you may find 15 plate cars that don’t have it. If you have nav, there will be 2 SD card slots in the glovebox and the screen surround buttons will say Nav and Traffic on the top 2 buttons on the right hand side.

Columbus is great; was a "must have" for me as I was buying used and my budget only allowed MIB1 cars. MIB1 Amundsen has a small screen and low resolution.

I also bought one with Canton, so Columbus gives full 5.1 surround.

Wireless charging would be cool, as would the screen mirroring of MIB2 cars but can't have everything eh? :)

The canton stereo system must awesome! I'm really quite pleased with my normal stereo.

Hillsy

Coming from an Oct 2 which had a reasonably good sounding stereo I was slightly appalled with the set up in my Oct 3.  I will be soundproofing the doors to get rid of the awful rattles and will take it from there.  Ultimately either a 6 channel amp with 2 channels bridged for a sub or 2 separate amps.  Im not after a banging setup (like my old days :tongueout:), just something reasonable.

Surely if you press the sat nav button it will tell it's not fitted or there is no sd card.

If there's a Nav button then there's Nav fitted. It may be that the data medium is missing (sd card) or it may be that for some reason it is inactive (license not paid on first registration perhaps) but the fact there's a nav button shows it has nav.
