To switch the internal alarm off just push the lock on the remote twice.

Perfect - jackies most pleased.

Now annoyed - previously told by dealer that new setting method was a security issue and that there was no work-around. Seem to remember that this worked with the Yeti - can't believe that I didn't try it earlier with the Karoq....

I had a long list of quality issues from new which the dealer couldn't solve. After some months I could take it no more and decided sell it back to the dealer at a BIG loss.

It's a long story with lots to share. For now I'll  focus on Skoda customer service in the hope someone in my position finds it useful.

My lesson learnt number 1. Don't get any hopes that they can do anything to help you. You may then ask what is the purpose of their existence - perhaps the answer lies somewhere between hope and illusion. They will point you back to the dealer or help you drop an email to a dealer if you're not getting a response. They use a 3 strike policy. They first wait 48 hours for a reply. In 48 hours if they hear nothing, they will drop another email and wait another 48 hours. If again they hear nothing then that's when they might pick up a phone to call the dealership. If the dealer does reply on attempt 2 with a blank email or one to say they'll come back 'soon' then they consider that a breakthrough moment - very much like the one when Thomas Watson heard his boss Alexander Graham Bell on the telephone for the first time. Anyhow too bad for the customer as we are now back at strike 0. You're probably thinking these must be 'bots' that can't identify when they are being taken for a ride but these are actually humans on the other end - or at least sounded very convincingly like one on the phone :)

If anyone in London has any use for these Karoq accessories then just message me.

1. All weather rubber mats for front, back and the rear tunnel.
2. LED boot light on the right hand side of the boot. Note that the torch on the left is already LED but the one on the right is not (at least not on standard SEL trim and below). Not sure about edition. This original LED replacement is a lot brighter.
3. Air vent covers below the driver and front passenger seat. By default for some reason all karoqs have them left open for crap to go in or out.

I regret that we ever got involved with Karoq. It revealed what a shocking and disgusting tactics the whole VAG are using. And that bad revelation includes our former dealer. They completely broke our trust. I naively thought they were different. We lost load of money when we had to trade the Karoq back because the dealer refused our rejection and then we ended up with a replacement car that my disabled husband really struggles to use. We couldn't afford and SUV which is what we needed. We will never forgive them or forget about it. If you like your money and sanity leave Skoda, Seat, Audi, or VW well alone! Don't touch them with barge pole.

Sorry to hear you got a bad experience with them too. What went wrong with your Karoq?

"Kangarooing" and losing power in second gear - apparently according to Skoda UK as I wad told it is a "characteristic". A bloody deadly one when it comes to the second gear losing power.

Regret Skoda's choice of OEM tyre size for my 2.0Tdi 4x4. Impossible to find a tyre I want to buy in this size.

My regrets about the Karoq are fuel economy and performance.

I have gone from a Superb Estate 2.0 150 TDI 4x4 to a Karoq 2.0 150 TDI 4x4  (both manual) and was hoping for better fuel economy and performance but I have neither!

The car feels really sluggish and the fuel economy is consistently 4 to 5 mpg less on the same trips.  I feel I have to keep pressing down on the accelerator (even on the flat) to keep it up to speed.  I have also noticed it seems to rev a lot lower than the Superb and that I'm almost always under 1500 revs so tend to drive in 4th gear everywhere...

Having stated the above I do think the handling is on a par with the Superb and its equally quiet.  I thought I'd miss the Superb but in truth I don't.
