Alloys

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I know this isn't strictly car chat but i'm looking at getting some new wheels.

Question is who makes the best alloys (In terms of build quality and finish)?.

I know it should be based on style and what best suits the car but i don't want to buy a lada when i could have a SKODA (if you catch my drift:D )

Many Thanks

Scott:)

BBS are very good (and very expensive) but stay away from polished finished ones - that goes for all alloys though!

Ronal, another German manufacturer are also good quality.

The above are both OE suppliers too, and I think some of the best designs are OE, notably Audi wheels, which often look a bit dull on an Audi look great on other models for some reason. OE wheels are usually a better quality finish than most aftermarket wheels, and the alloy seems a lot less soft and prone to chipping paint. Plus they can be picked up second hand cheaply on the 'bay.
