PD160 Air Intake

Featured Replies

Hope you can follow this (sounds strange to me)

Went into my local SEAT dealer (service only) yesterday and asked for

6LL 129 621 (trumpet)

6LL 129 618 (pipe)

but got told that 6LL was not a SEAT part number and they could not find the relavent parts when told it was to fit an 04 Ibiza PD 160. So I left thinking i was wrong:O

Then went to the VW parts distribution centre and asked for the same things (told they didn't exist).

very helpful guy went and printed off pics of the air box and rad systems and asked me to point it out. I dunno what i looks like there were a few i thought it could be.

picked one and he said it was

6QO 129 618G -

Nope. I suspect you were right the first time, the bits ARE to fit a PD160 Ibiza Cupra - but it also fits the Fabia.... So you ARE after Seat Ibiza PD160 bits, but don't tell them its for a Fabia. If you do tell them, just tell you KNOW the part number is right, you KNOW the pipe will fit the pd130 fabia, and then look smug. :) Its about £30 for the two parts in all.

These are the ones:

6LL 129 621 Trumpet

6LL 129 618 Pipe

Walked into my nearest Seat dealer, ordered them, no questions. Arrived in 2 days and with the Strut Brace I ordered too

This may seem like a very num nuts type question, but what are the advantages of the Seat air intake over the standard one - is it worth me putting it on or not?

Try a search.

It's a wider piper and trumpet basically, so allows for more air flow. Needs to be teamed up with a replacement panel filter (green cotton, K&N, pipercross etc) to get the most from it I guess. Haven't heard of anything particularly convincing to say it does a lot, just heard it makes the throttle a little smoother and stops it dieing off quick as quickly.

Not like it costs a lot or takes long to do though.

Look at the narrow bore of the removed air intake (oem one) compared to the fat chunky bore of the fitted pd130. I would estimate the total circumference of the Cupra intake is around 100% of the oem one. :)

does the pd160 intake fit a 110bhp elegance ? the air box looks the same as a vrs

Think so yes. It also fits the 1.4 TDi IIRC.

Coupled with a green filter it made 10 bhp more on the rollers according to Mike at Jabba, he was also able to hold the boost higher (1.5 bar) for longer.

110 bhp? They dont do a 110 bhp Fabia.

I think he means 100 bhp :D

Even I missed it!

Being thick here, Can some one confirm the part numbers to order?? and also the part number for the seat strut brace.

Thanks:confused:

Its in this thread, or availalbe if you search.

6LL 129 621 Trumpet

6LL 129 618 Pipe

Ross i'm beginning to understand why you get frustrated with repeated questions that can easily be found by people using their noggin.

Hi, can someone confirm the part numbers to order?

Cheers

To cut along story short i walked (well almost a skippy dance) out the showroom with that smug grin on my face :D :D :D

Ordered the strut brace at the same time:D :D :D :D

Thanks Folks:)
