orange oil light flashing

Featured Replies

Orange oil light keeps flashing regularly in dash ,( OIL SENSOR WORKSHOP ) just came on overnight nothing doing lol ,Bought new oil level sensor after local garage put computer on and showed that the oil level sensor was faulty ,new sensor cost £95 from skoda ,had it put in ,but same thing still happening ,Computer showing ---PLEASE CHECK FAULT CODES IN ENGINE CONTROL MODULE U101F  MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION -CURRENT,STORED.-----   When light flashes it says oil sensor workshop in bright orange , can somebody help please (stop start not working also but not bothered about that ) i tho i mention that just in case might be related -never know with skoda ---( i think computer showing sensor on gearbox or something ,i will prob tackle that next lol )should also mention temperature on dash not working or showing temperature, its on in dash tho with the tick mark ,my car is a  SKODA SUPERB 2 LITRE ESTATE140 bhp BUSINESS late 2014 model ,car drives fines even when flashing no limp mode or anything, so im guessing it cant be that serious or can it ???  my last skoda gave me similar problems ,i just hope its not chaffered wires or somthing ---like for example my 2010 superb greenline the airbag light came on and i was told this and that #need new sensor blah blah and i found out it was the loom in door lol from briskoda forum lol   thanks jeff

you may have the same fault I have  with my car.   - first have you check your oil level is it correct ?  have you noticed a electrical burning smell at any time as a once off ?  is your oil temp reading digital readout not working also ? if you answer yes to all these you have a burned out air sensor that uses the same fuse as the oil sensor - mine has melted 3 times and gives out an  orange oil warning fault.  took 2 dealers and a independent to identify it and  fix it - but only lasted a year.  will be repairing it my self in the next week .... the only worry is if the wires have melted together in the harness as it gos from back off the engine to the front of the car then back through the dash and along to drivers side fuse box ... so there a lot of wire ...... also you will prob find the 5amp fuse blown.

hello thanks for reply , where is air sensor located and how much ? and also the 5 amp fuse where is that ? digital reading also not working and i remember smelling like burning smell but i am hoping my mind not making that up ,please help me thanks

The air quality sensor is under windscreen passenger side under two lots of plastic trim. You will prob find the connector on the wiring  harness is melted also. And will need to be replaced. You can get all bits off ebay. The sensor is 58 quid. Replacement wires you need qty 3 and the connector with 3 butt connectors so around 20 quid. I'm away form home at moment but if you need I can get you part numbers next Thursday. The 5 amp fuse is in the fuse box drivers side cabin top row from memory

thanks again for help ,i just had look at all 5 amp fuses in side of driver side dash and they seem to be fine ,so does that mean this might not be the problem,i dont understand it ,i am getting frustrated ,everything you said like electronic oil temp also not working ,sensor just randomly comes on orange oil light sensor and says workshop ,sometimes it wont come on for ages then when it does it comes  5-6 times together ,do you think i should still look at air sensor just in case ????

hello , yes i checked fuses and they were fine but i still went ahead and looked at sensor you were on about ,passenger side under windscreen ,and that was fine so that is not it, maybe i should change the other sensor on or around sump, temp sensor because digi temp gauge not working on dash ,had the wiring checked to the first sensor (level sensor that goes in sump) that is all fine ,dont know what to do maybe go to a place called grimmwood in Peterborough electrical specialist ,is there anybody out there who maybe can help please ???

Find someone with VCDS / VCP and scan for error codes.
