Enabling massaging seat

Featured Replies

I have recently taken delivery of a Superb III in Australia, which has electric seats in the front, including lumber adjustment and memory.

I noticed that in some markets, the Superb now has the massage function on the drivers seat, which replaces one of the three memory buttons.

Just thinking out loud here - is the memory function just cycling the movement of the lumber motors? If so, is there any way this functionality could be enabled via software?

Highly unlikely mate.

My previous B8 Passat had this, Memory Position 3 is removed and replaced with the Massage Switch.

Is there any update in this topic?

I was driving a newer Passat with this massage function for 2 weeks, A button on the left side of the seat (ergo comfort and another one for "massage") and it felt like the lumbar motor going up and down, in and out... not really a massage but felt really a releaf to have it.

I am wondering is there any extra motors or "equipment" in the seat or is it just a simple solution to move the motors... and i am also wondering if is it possible  in the Superb 3...

It's just the lumbar motor going out, up, in, down, so small software trick.

So how can it be done???

No extra hardware needed?

Would love this right now.

Likewise

You need a parameterised 3Q0 seat control module and a coding tool to do the basic settings, it’s not a simple tweak if you have 5Q0 seat controller which you will have if you have a non massage seat from factory.

and i assume it wont work without a button :)

Button is not needed to be changed. Or I think that, because I tried that - by changing only the buttons and it works the same (like third settings). It is just different visualization, nothing else. :)

The function of third settings (button with 3 or massage) depends on 3Q0 controller settings

Ahh ok, so the only difference is the actual symbol, if programmed correctly number 3 button acts as massage function!
Anyone have a part number to look for, cant seem to find a seat module with 3Q0 or i just am stupid :)

I think that about the buttons, but I am not sure about this.

And about the part number. I have this 5Q0 959 760 F (without massage of course) so I would try to look for 3Q0 959 760 with index A,B,C ... not sure, which was the most

Literally only one on ebay, not so cheap as well :)

Don’t get a new one if you can’t get the parameter file from a Passat as they don’t come with the parameter data on them.

I do have a source for a parameter data file, so that wont be an issue, but the one on ebay is from a skoda, so i guess its plug and play, of course with minor adjustment :D

You do? Would be really handy to know where that is as I’m struggling to find a used one. Thanks :)

Did anyone try this and did it work . Is it just a matter of swapping the seat controller and coding or have other issues arisen

No, the software is the same hence the long coding option is there - but it doesnt enable anything or allow the massage to work at all sorry.
