Vrs 170pd issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

new here but wondering if anyone can shine some light on my problem.i recently purchased a 08 vrs 170pd Octavia with Dpf light on and limp mode so i removed Dpf and got egr/Dpf mapped off but also I noticed my turbo was seized on the shaft so replaced with brand new turbo but still no power really,so after hours of investigation and half a tank of diesel from driving it registered a fault with injectors cylinder 2and 3 so I replaced them and still no power .To give a brief description of what it's doing very hard started after it starts it just idles for approx a minute won't rev up at all strong smell of unburnt diesel and blue smoke from exhaust, when it does accelerate slow to rev up and down on power running like a bad 90bhp in boost ,no fault codes stored now any one suggestion where to go from here to resolve the power

it would be much appreciated

Blue smoke - Did you check and clean all the air intake pipes when you changed the turbo. Maybe oil in there that's burning??

Maybe worth checking the cylinder compression / valve stem oil seals. Could be oil getting in and burnt somehow and low compression giving poor performance.

Is it the correct grade and amount of oil in it? Has it been contaminated with fuel?

Hope you get it sorted out.

Hi yeah I've had the inlet manifold off and cleaned to free up flaps,it isn't burning oil either it's more like unburnt diesel

Hi just reporting back ,

after a long time looking whenever I got a free minute at my vrs I finally solved my problem.the pre turbo exhaust gas temp sensor was faulty reading 1000degrees it’s located on the manifold due to my dpf delete map the guy also had the fault codes for temp sensors in exhaust blocked but Ecu is still relying on the information,I actually figured out quite a handy quick fix I removed the orange plug temp sensor and cut the little plastic tit off it and and plugged it into the black plug(black plug sensor is pre turbo temp sensor)and car was full of life at last the plug locations are just beside the battery mounted on the bulkhead along with the boost pressure solonite .i hope this helps someone else out as I know in the last two years I lost faith many times along with a nice few pound on parts .ohh and even tho no faults when u are plugged in with diagnostic go to live data and view exhaust temp sensors there on idle expect to see about 200degress on pre turbo
