Is KESSY standard on the SE-L?

Featured Replies

Hi

First time posting here, but I've been using the awesome knowledge on here while deciding on my next car - and I'm very close to ordering a 1.4 DSG SE-L Estate.

The Superb price & features list pdf (Jan '18 edition) states that KESSY is optional on the SE-L, and additionally lists it in the what the L&K has over the SE-L section.

I'm keen to get the virtual pedal, and both the pdf and the online configurator state that KESSY is a prerequisite. However, it's not in the list of options on the configurator.

I've read some replies on here decrying the accuracy of the spec lists and configurator. Can anyone confirm whether KESSY is now standard fit?

Thanks!

You'll be unlikely to get one though as order acceptance for 1.4 equipped cars stopped some time ago, the engine is discontinued. The only chance is a newly built stock vehicle or one of the last being built for stock or a cancelled order before the build cut off date of wk 26? (June).

You'll have to wait until October (wk 40) before orders for the new 1.5tsi are accepted.

My SE-L has KESSY and I did not specify it nor pay extra. I did select options that said KESSY was a prerequisite but I never selected KESSY on the option list (and it was on the list as a cost option). I did not go for the virtual pedal and have not felt I need one so far (very easy to either press the fob button or the button on the boot itself even with stuff in my hands.

Any SEL Superb Ordered from April 2018 has KESSY as Standard.  It doesn't AFAIK have Virtual Pedal though.

Minor Spec changes came in in April that added KESSY and Front Parking Sensors to the SEL

Thanks all, that's really helpful.

I've just been to my local dealer, and as @xman has suggested, it turns out I can't order a 1.4. In fact, they've told me that all petrol Superbs are currently off.

Really disappointed. I do too few miles to get a diesel. They offered big discounts on two SportLines they have (one showroom, one staff car) but I think my wife would find the ride too firm plus they don't have the options I would ideally like.

Are there no petrol ones built in the UK, I just placed an order for a 2.0t dsg sportline and my dealer gave me a list of all cars available already built.. so I chose one which had the options I wanted - heated seats and front parking sensors.. mine is in Germany and should be here in about 3 weeks..

@technics100 sorry, only saw your reply today.

The dealer did start looking at unregistered stock, but it was "oh, we've actually got one out the back". Then "oh, there's one at another showroom within group". Drip feeding me the ones they wanted to sell rather than looking at all available units so I could get one close to my requirements.

This only added to my annoyance with having been to them 4-5 times before they gave me the full situation re: ordering, so I decided to take the bank holiday weekend to have a look further afield and found a 1 year old (2017) L&K 220 with pretty much everything for a really good price.

So despite taking the long way round, I'm now in the club!
