Photos from the Ultimate Dubs Show

Featured Replies

Excellent show this weekend in Telford... Loads of fantastic cars, indoor, well organised, on-site hotels, etc etc. I'll definately be going again next year.

Apart from the Derv Doctor having a standard looking Fabia and Octavia on their trade stand (albeit with some vinyl stuck on them), mine was the only Skoda in the indoor show. I spied one Fabia vRS outside when I ventured out there, but again, it looked pretty much standard.

There was no "Best Skoda" trophy, which was a bit of a let down as there was "Best" VW, Audi and Seat, but when I spoke to the organiser at the end of the show, he said he hadn't included Skodas as he didn't think he'd be able to find many modified examples for the show. Anyway, it seems he made an exception for me when I sent in my application form. I mentioned that next year it'd be nice to include Skoda's as I'm sure there's enough tastefully modifed Skodas that could make it to the show for a weekend!

I only took a few photos at the show, because my batteries ran out (I should have charged them beforehand!), but there are loads on UK-MKIVS.net, UK-Polos.net and the Edition38 Forums to name a few.

Anyway, here are my photos:

Car is looking sweet Josh. Well done on waving the Skoda banner for us all :)

Should have brought the pick up, that would have created a few looks!

Looking good.

Yeah, the pickup would have gone down a storm!

There were quite a few cars with air ride there... It really is catching on!

The cleaned.be guys cleaned up when it came to dishing out the trophies... Their cars are so, so nice!

Awesome.

Wish my car was worthy... :(

wow thats shiny. but whats the fluffy fox tail type thing in it:confused:

not keen on those wheels either (sorry!!!) apart from that-nice car

The "fluffy fox tail type thing" is a fox's tail. Nothing more, nothing less.

Oh, and those wheels are the only thing that stopped me from wanting to sell the car... I thought it looked rubbish on the standard rims, but when I put the D90's back on last week, I fell back in love, so I'm not bothered what anyone else thinks about them (and to be honest, I've heard it all before on here anyway!)... I LOVE THEM! :P

Oh, and they're almost as old as you Miss P... Vintage 1989! I don't think they're doing too badly

There's only one car I like on there, F586. That is of course apart from yours Josh

The car of the show, for me, was the creme 6n Polo from Belgium. Beautiful car, in and out.

I like the porsche wheels a lot. More than the actual appearance of them I like the stance of the rears a LOT. Is it simply wider rims at the back - Something like 16" x 8.5 aren't they? With 7.5s on the front?

  • Author

Almost...

8x16 at the back and 6x16 at the front.

I love that the rears have a bit of a dish to them... Also having wider rears makes the back end just look a bit phatter.

Nice photos Josh!

That 6N Polo is..............erm.............low! :D

Good to meet you again at the show Josh

That was my fabia VRS outside on the elite1000 club stand. Internal mods only at the moment. Springs were in the boot as booked in the day before to be lowered but had to work :thumbdwn:

Sure i will see you at some other shows later in the year :D Will be at GTI festival at santapod on the 2nd april. They do have a combined audi/skoda class as i won it with the octy last year ;)

josh i think your wheels look sweet mate and i agree that cream polo is the dogs:thumbup:

We are looking forward to this years show!! The skoda on our stand were 2 brother who I know. They love the stickers on them even there mother has them on her Ibiza cupra!!

The Octavia has a Turbo Dynamics hybrid K04 upgrade and a FMIC etc on it. And the Fabia at that time had a PD160 intake and Re-Map.

Hope there will be a few more Skoda at this years show :)

Fabia looks fantastic! Are they porsche 944 alloys?

I'm guessing this must be your car too then Josh. Me and a mate spent ages at GTI International last year saying how awesome it looks on Porsche rims. They definitely seem to be an acquired taste though. Most people I've spoken to about them don't like them... idiots lol.

Cheers!

Yes they are :)

I'm not taking mine to the show this year as my wheels need refurbishing and they'll not be done in time :(

I think the porsche rims suit the car perfectly, very clean lines keeping with the cars overall appearance

They'll be a few of us there this year (though not showing - club space was full :( ).

There is/was a thread in the meets/events section

You have no taste  Porka D90's are sweet! Thinking of some for my C, but with Black Centres!
