MPG - 2.0 diesel 4x4 DSG

Featured Replies

Hi,

I managed 55.2 mpg on an 88 mile run today, mostly with ACC on.

Has anyone gotten better with a similar spec car?

We've just been on a jaunt with ours  and only achieved 47.9.  Lanark to Peterborough, via Newton Stewart ( to drop off the pup!!) Within 20 miles, a 900 mile round trip, with a mix of Motorway, Dual Carriageway and A roads, sticking pretty well to National speed limits. Pan sunroof open for much of the time, aircon on for the rest. Consumption is an average of the trip down Thursday and the trip back today.  Interesting that on the A75 from Newton Stewart to Gretna road the are a lot of signs saying HGV 40MPH. Traffic Sign recognition picks them up and displays 40 on the Multi Function display.

Good mpg but you’re driving like Miss Daisy (38 mph) :)

I was surprised at the average speed. It must have dropped because of a couple of traffic jams we got caught up in.

I haven't seen such a good figure yet. My weekly trip to the office is probably the only time I would see those kind of figures other than a big journey. I saw 51.5mpg on my last trip. There is only 500 miles on the car so far, so I'm hoping things will improve a bit as things loosen up. As always, I'd advise taking the trip computer values with a pinch of salt, my first tank measured average was 44.1 over 454 miles, the computer was claiming 45.8.

On a 100 mile run to Shuttleworth which was mostly motorway last weekend I achieved 54mpg at an average speed of 50mph.

On the work run I'm getting 42 to 48mpg at the moment.

Great Airshow wasn't it B)

We managed to fit in a few steam railways as well for a completely 'sad' long weekend whilst we were 'baking' in the lovely temps down south

I know I have come to this conversation late, but my 2016 VRS 4x4 is averaging 51 mpg at the moment.  That’s over a period of 2093 miles, and all types of roads, although mainly dual carriageway and motorways.  Current odometer is 62500, yep 62500.  No issues, and running like a dream, absolute cracking car.  That good I’m upgrading to the new model.  Regularly see in excess of 55 mpg plus!!

Consumption on a longer trip.

In UK units, it translates in 52.3 mpg. I think that it's a good consumption. I drove on national roads, so not on high ways.

It could have been ever better if I wouldn't have moments with full throttle and high peaks of 160 km/h.

?

How loaded was your car, passengers and luggage?

It translates to an average speed of just above 42 mph.

So just as well you got a nip on occasionally because you must have been stopped or crawling along quite a bit.

I was driving alone and I had only a small bag.

Yes, I've made 3 stops, but I don't think that they are taken into account for the driving data.

Managed 62MPG on the 26mile commute in wife's 1.5Tsi SEL manual, thanks to the excellent ACT.

Has anyone tried the ECO mode? I used it one time, in city, and I managed an average of 50.4 mpg, thanks to the Coasting function. Usually, I have an average of 30 mpg, on the same route.

SmartSelectImage_2018-07-13-23-20-12.png

Wife's Karoq always in ECO last 3 commutes of 26 miles has averaged 56.4,57.1 & 58.4mpg, who needs a noisy diesel.:D

Driving data on a longer trip. The first picture is from the way to, the second is from return.

Outside the cities I'm driving with 68-74 mph, while inside I'm driving with 43, mostly with ACC On.

I like a lot the AAC, it's very confortable to use. I can drive a lot of miles without touching the pedals, only by adjusting the speed from the lever or letting it bracking or accelerati g.

Posting an update, since I got a good return on a recent trip to the office. Average mpg over 12K miles is 45.6, with a best average tank 49.4. I have seen almost 60mpg on a 20 mile journey stuck behind slow traffic, but 45mpg is indicative of my usual average.

Wife's petrol Karoq 148bhp best of 63.2, Sunday did 58.7 over 27 miles at an average speed of 43mph and overall 45.3mpg after 13,000 miles, so very similar to the heavier 4WD diesel.

Computer MPG or measured?

My computer was reading 5% optimistic until I had it recalibrated. (OBD11 change) Now it is slightly pessimistic, but gives me a good indication of real range. If you click on the link in my sig. you will see the measured mpg for the car.

The 45.3mpg is actual fuel used over the 13 months we've had the car. Tends to average about 48 in the summer and 42 in the winter but the exceptionally mild weather gave the good maxidot reading the other day. Car managed 2 weeks and took just 37 litres to fill which was £46 exactly so happy with that.

Only 9mpg less than our 148bhp petrol Karoq.:giggle:
