Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI

Featured Replies

So, thinking about one of these to replace a Fabia 2 1.4 tdi.

Thoughts ? Does the panoramic roof make it very hot inside?

Not sure about the all in one front seats, red centre console and why don't they come with electric rear windows?

I have one and the roof doesn’t make it any hotter in my opinion. If it was turn AC on. The car is pretty sporty when driving and my centre console is black as this was an option but became standard I thought with some colour options. Boot is very spacious compared to other manufacturers, although I have an estate version.

As a tallish person (6’ 2”) I do find some difficulty getting over the seat bolster when entering/exiting the car to be honest, unless the seat is further back.

I’ve also wondered about the rear windows but I guess another motor and fixtures adds extra weight and cost overall

My parents have a Rapid with the panoramic roof, I think it's great. It doesn't make the car too hot in the summer. I prefer the seats in my Fabia though personally, their Rapid is an SE Sport which is very similar to the Monte.

The keep fit windows in a car that starts at £16k.... yeah. Seems a bit odd that the Monte and SEL don't get electric rear windows at least, although TBH even the SE should IMO! Still, not a deal breaker for me. I don't sit in the back :tongueout:

The lack of electric rear windows is a bit mean but not that unusual in the supermini class. They are not even available as an option on a 18k Micra or 19k Corsa and not standard on a 20k fiesta ST Line X.  Lets hope they become standard on the facelift Fabia, at least on SEL trim. ( not holding out much hope though ).

Lol 'keep fit windows'. I have never understood why  VW/Skoda don't have 4 x electric. As you say it's not a deal breaker and in my case we very rarely have anyone in the back but I can imagine the winders could be great fun for kids.

At least with electrics you can disable the rears and keep the kids safe.

We have a Monte Carlo 1.2 estate, the glass pano makes no difference to the in car temperature, plus you remove the car aerial sticking up which makes the car all over look sleeker in my opinion.

The seats are very comfortable, I don’t miss the adjustable headrest, I don’t even notice that. I’m 5’ 11” and it’s just right sitting position even on long journeys the seats are very comfy.

The cherry centre console looks great and makes a good addition to the red seats and our car is Corrida red so it suits the red interior.

Electric rear windows would be a nice to have but nobody ever puts the windows down in the rear of our car so I don’t notice. In fact one touch drivers side electric window is all I miss on the Fabia.

I'm 6'2" tall and unlike Peter above, I don't have any issues with getting in and out of a Monte. Pana roof makes no difference to the temp in the car. Try one out and see how you get on.

I find the pana roof one of the best features on my monte.

It makes the interior feel light and airy. plus you can always close the sun blinds.

Hello

Yep definitely get it....just coming up to a year with mine and have loved it from the day i collected it. Roof is great and as above....close the blinds if necessary.

Mine is race blue with black console as i didnt think the red would go with the blue car but....in retrospect dont think it would have mattered. I really like the all in one seat too. Rear electrics are an option if you are buying new but as with the others, it hasnt overly bothered me, i agree the lack of one touch is a bit mean though.

I hope you get it....you will enjoy it.

  • 2 weeks later...

i have seen 1 with rear electric windows for sale my other half had one nippy cars for what they are i'm thinking of downgrading from an audi not going to moan about the differences  just being more frugal

So tempted to do a deal on this today! Had to get out of the showroom very quickly

Very tasty indeed  ^^^

Get the estate version and the 17" wheels, its  a much stronger overall looking car. In fact the estate removes that weird little angle up on the rear door panel below the triangle window, I have no idea why they put that there on the hatch.

Get a deal done Rick.

The best colour btw

Guess it’s to mimic a “family” look - it’s on the Octavia and Superb saloons too. However,  the estates on all three, just get a little hint of it on the “third light”.

A smaller hint of it on the Karoq but not the Kodiaq. They must have tired of it.

I reckon there's going to come a time very soon when there'll be some good deals on pre facelift models. Choices choices!

Buy it tomorrow. You only live once

:D Unfortunately my current PCP has a bit longer to run for it to be economically viable. I do love my S EL but wish I'd got the Pano roof having seen the Monte one.

The Fabia actually scores points for design on many reviews, some even relate to the up sweep referred to as a plus, setting it aside from it's more bland competitors.

I have to say I like it too. It's a matter of one man's meat I suppose?

God knows how but it reminds me of a Fiat Strada/Ritmo! Showing my age now.

Bill :)

I like the angular lines of the Fabia. Don't like any other cars :tongueout:

You’re not imagining it ! The same guy involved in the design of both! They called them the Stilo here.

I loved my Fiat Strada CL 75 Auto, 1.500cc,  that was before there were any Stilo's.

For a short while i had a Abarth Stilo selespeed 2,400 cc, i would have one again.

Hi Mithane

Different car I think.

Ritmo/Strada introduced in 1968 - told you I am old! I liked the style of the Stilo (2001) - especially the rear light design on the 3 door.
