You already have, Harrogate isn't in Lincolnshire and it looks like you got rid of the Alfa as well.

Moved back "Home" from Lincolnshire in June 2010......and a certain wife crashed the Alfa in Dec 2010. I had anticipated this event by already being in hospital when she did it. I havn't had an Alfa since as I need something that tows a boat. I do miss them though I have to be honest. We are now a three Skoda family...plus a Connect van. I didn't think there would be anything about Lincs on here still.

Your name is the clue and better a certain wife than an uncertain one.

I think Alfas can tow boats these days without exploding so you'll need a new excuse. I got overtaken by a 159 JTS on full chat the other day, I can confirm that the spine-tingling howl is still present and correct.

My last two were a 24 Valve V6 164  and a 156 2.4 JTD sportwagon. The V6 towed the boat on the road ok, but  I was taken for an involuntary ride down a slipway in it. It stopped before we all got wet, but from then on 4x4 only on slipways, or get a tractor to do it.

I thought watching boats on trailers being reversed down slipways was an acceptable spectator sport, I remember seeing someone getting into trouble once at Runswick Bay in North Yorkshire.

Alfa 156 JTD, back in 1999, when I started looking at how to import a new car from Europe to save lots of cash - that activity was very "fashionable" at that time, I settled on a VW Passat 4Motion 2.8 V6, but a co-worker, fancied a bit of that action but could not find anything exciting to buy from the Ford range - so I dropped in a suggestion which was Alfa 156 JTD saloon - and found a willing dealer for him in NL near Arnhem, he ordered his car and got it by January 2000, I had to wait until May 2000 as VW  were playing silly beggars with people buying UK spec'd cars from Pons who were the importers of VW into NL!
