Cool 3 votes more than good enough for me to breath a sigh of relief :D  Just hoping this radiator issue is no biggie to tackle.

@Wino you sir are a genius. Absolutely spot on with the leak it was indeed the thermostat plug on the radiator leaking away. So tried a 30 mm swaan neck spanner which only tightened it just as it was slipping :( so think ill need a 29mm deep socket to grip it properly. Even trying to get a spanner was a nightmare.

Also gave the transmission area a good clean with brake cleaner, awesome stuff to clean grease.

So will monitor occasionally to see it leaks much but as said should be fine.

@Wino Trying to source a 29mm deep socket is proving difficult  Do you suggest just using a adjustable wrench for the job?

Also while am at it, my handbrake is also not very effective. The lever has to be really extended back to take effect. Do you recommend tightening the cable from inside the cabin (behind the handbrake) or at the drums?

Thanks so much for the offer Mate. I will check again with some of the motor factors around my work this afternoon and if it turns out no luck then I shall PM you :)

Also what do you suggest about the handbrake?

For the handbrake, you should really get the drums off and see what things are like in there, could just need cleaned up and the wedge etc bits cleaned/freed up and then they might find the new correct position, if not you could always help the wedge to move another groove down.  Only after that should you consider taking up the slack on the handbrake handle assembly adjuster.

Edit:- I tend to like Laser Tools products quite a bit and try to get as much from The Tool Academy as they are cheaper.

I was advised the same by a mechanic near my house. So think am going to book it in for a service then. To be honest there is no history with the car so am not even sure when the drum pads were changed?

That 29mm socket is more likely to be 1 1/8" because it's for a plumbing type fitting so you might find it easier to get one of those or even use a box spanner if there's room, that size is very common at plumbers merchants.

Ok to update this I ended up buying a adjustable wrench to tighten the thermostat switch. So to solve the space issue in the engine bay i removed the fan by releasing them from the 3 bolts holding it. So had plenty of space and was able to tighten it as much i could. Also i tightened it yesterday so i didnt see any leaks today. However there was still few droplets at the edge of the radiator as shown here

I will check again after few days to make sure there is no leaks. Hopefully it stays dry till the radiator can :)
