Auto Lights

Featured Replies

That great thanks Mickbr

Thank you for the digging, That is very useful.

Got my auto light come through, but my old headlight switch is stuck!

I've pushed it in and twisted it as per instructions (where the switch "locks" in the sidelight position), but the switch just won't budge. I've popped the side panel off and tried pushing from the back but have the same issues... I'm running out of ideas... Anyone?

As you push the switch in and turn slightly to the right you should be able to feel the prongs at the back of the switch move inward

First removal is always difficult, the side trim that's removed in the tutorial, it becomes much easier to remove the switch if you're pushing from behind

Still can't push it out from behind (ooh err). Beginning to think it's stuck in there... However, I'm reluctant to put the side panel back on yet (been driving around the last few weeks with it off... I WON'T be defeated by a light switch!)

Still, the plastic pry tool that came with the switch has come in handy for quite a few little jobs on the car anyways...

Hello all, I've successfully completed this retrofit myself, and it gets a +1 from me - massive thank you for the detailed guide.

One thing that I noticed on my 2013 model is that the barbs are fully activated when in the sidelights position.

Once I'd popped out the trim on the side of the dash, I pushed on the headlight switch gently with my right hand (RHD model) and pushed the knob in, to the sidelights position, and then pulled it out nice and easy.

Thanks again for the guide, hopefully my quick reply saves someone the four minutes it took me to figure out why I couldn't pull the switch out 😂
