Crikey, that's more than a bit forensic!!!   A couple of months ago my car was cased at 4 oclock in the morning, by a young scummer on a bike, riding up to my car and calling someone to disc

I've worked out where BMW have got their inspiration from, for the new M4 grill

I think the front is very bold and I applaud BMW for trying something different. As I've posted before, when they came out with the rather heavy-handed 'Flame Surfacing' most people were horrified, certainly the 1 series was a bit of an eye-opener. But now nearly all cars have it in some form and the 1 series morphed into a reasonably attractive looking car. I think the front grill is something that BMW will use  again in modified form and we will accept in a year or two, especially if the car turns out to be desirable.......obviously not for some (you know who). But to put that weird exhaust on the back of the GTS, if that is what it is, just smacks of trying to hard, It's not that it is super offensive, but it's hardly sophisticated to look at.

If it's good enough for a Zonda....

nah, see thats different as its an insanely designed car and the 4 pipes are square.

the sloped twins on the M just look strange and a bit naff.

The Zonda is very 60's Thunderbirds, so it gets a pass on its weirdness, at least in my book. It's also a car I will never own. While the M3/4 is probably beyond my means, even the running cost of a second-hand one will probably be too much for me, it is still almost theoretically possible that I might own one and so it has to look right for my fantasy to live

TBH it's not awful but it lacks class.

BMW seem to be pandering to those with money but not taste.

Which as a business makes total sense, however, as someone who will probably never buy one of those cars I'm grossly offended.

I'm still seeing the alien with boggly eyes that I posted earlier! Of course if the car is fantastic to drive, then all will be forgiven....almost

Cars are funny things. When you drive them your perception changes.

Not quite the same league but back in 2002 I did not like the Ford Focus. I thought it was a weird blobby car.

Then I drove one and I was so impressed by how nice it was (I had a Mk3 Vauxhall astra) that all of a sudden I quite liked the car.

Maybe the M4 will be like that. Or maybe it's just too ****ing ugly for anyone normal to love

If it is a great car, people will admire its looks, I'm pretty sure. It might take a while, but even Peter Beardsley seemed to look better after a few years...

Who am I kidding

BMW sort out the exhaust pipes on the GTS!!

Funnily enough, if the next M2 looks like this (needs proper M exhausts and deep dish wheels of course), then it would definitely get my vote. Especially if it's RWD and has 450-480bhp (can't see it getting the full fat engine). It would also be a tad too expensive for me, especially in the current climate, but a girl can dream :)

So I am at the local BMW dealer and thought I would pop across to the sales dept to say hello to the lovely Nigel, a slightly older chap who has sold me cars before...or done his best to :) It was super sad to hear he has been made redundant. He must have been with this firm 20 years or more I imagine. Quite upsetting really. I hoped he took voluntary redundancy as I guess he must be approaching retirement age, but he showed no signs of not enjoying his job. Whats even weirder is that the dealership is rammed. I drove around for ages trying to find a parking spot, not something I have ever had to contend with before. Lots of new cars flying out the door.

I visit a couple of BMW dealerships in Scotland.

Near impossible to park as a customer even in the Disabled Spaces.

Rammed with used stock not selling, Demonstrators being used by staff and some new cars waiting to go off someplace some time.

They really like to look busy busy busy.....

No this place is really busy. Lots of people coming to look at cars and take delivery etc. I suspect the service dept is quite busy as people start to catch up on servicing, at least if like me they have put it off due to not running the car and/or being skint. It just seems to sad that one of the nicest salesmen I've ever known has gone. End of an era I guess.

The other weird thing is all these cars on display and they are all locked. I normally like to spread my greasy fingerprints all over the exterior and interior of ridiculously expensive cars, as well as occasionally going "brummm brumm" and pretend to waggle the steering wheel

I wonder if Porsche would do me a free redundancy insurance on a 911? (and generous 0% finance on a 50 year HP loan)

I can see absolutely no reason for them not to make this offer to you.
