How many modes DSG got? Get the best from it.

I think you got the wrong car if you want the 1.4tsi to continue its torque output well beyond the nominal 4k rpm. It is only a small turbo to minimise lag and provide lower rev boost which is fine for most drivers and most road conditions.

A remap will give around 20% improvement for most outputs at a reasonable price but none of the map results (for unmodified 1.4tsi) I have seen have really provided much high rev output, probably because the volume of air required is beyond the turbo capabilities.

A larger turbo fitted will give what you want, but probably at the expense of overall mpg and low rev tractability.

A petrol vRS gives the sort of performance you are looking for with the additional safety of suitable brakes and suspension.

Just hang on to the 250 NM a bit longer rather than tailing off from 3500 rpm  ie 3k revs short of the red line.  I had come across a DSG tune but struggling to find it. As it is torque that kills gearboxes rather than power.

I have had several petrol VRSs and the crappy fuel consumption (apart from the Fabia VRS which was good ie 45-55 mpg on a run, is just too much of a pain to live with when one does 60k kms  a year and often 600 kms in day.  The 50 litre fuel tank is crazy small for that car, odd it did not get the 55 litre tank from the 4X4.

A Superb with the 280 hp EA888 engine is much more preferable for that level of engine performance linked to 4 wheel drive but then the mpg is even worse but at least one has a decent sized fuel tank.

It is just a mild tune to uplift the power and torque in the 3,500 to 6,000 range, 180 to 200 hp with good fuel and without the torque above 300 NM.....
