what parts I should take care of that maybe will fail in the future?

what is the oil capacity of the engine with the oil filter?

can I put the xenon light on my car?

is there a good performance exhaust for the car?

Hi.

Youll need to give a bit more detail the car to get the answers youre looking for. Its a '03 1.9diesel, but which version? Engine code will be on the sticker under the boot liner - ALH, AGR, something along that line. That will tell us youve actually got. You said its "Tour" but thats the name they put on mk1's built after the end of original production to use up parts and sold only to taxi drivers, but That only started happening in 2004/5.

VW Bora or golf parts will fit, but need to check compatability - difference trims/specs may cause problems, eg the load ratings on Shocks and springs are different due to the different weight distribution.

@akachi - OK, Wheels up to 17x6.5 ET42 5x100 will fit your car, subject to using the correct tyre size. The most critical points being that the offset must be ET38 or ET42, and PCD must be 5x100.

I don't understand what you mean by "roof lighting"? Do you mean the interior courtesy lights?

To lower a TDi you need a specialised set of TDi lowering springs and dampers, because the engine is heavier than any of the petrols, even the 1.8t.

As mac says, to advise on engine tuning and brake upgrades, we need to know what the standard spec of the car is first.

yep

Ah, its an ALH so 90bhp same as mine was.

If you change the injectors and get a fueling rate tweak done on the engine you can get it up to 110bhp with nothing else to be done.

If you then go with skoda Black Magic as your respray colour (you mentioned wanting it black) you gain another 5bhp as its the best colour :D

can't do that cause I don't  do that cause I don't want to do anything in the engine not in this car, I have another mk1 like my car I will do that later with it,

I only want to lower the car and improve the handling and the breaking

and make the interior GREAT AGAIN :muscle:

skoda Black Magic

can you tell me how to get this color?

I have to get the color by my self

Your current paint code is 9102.

Black magic is 9910.

Any half decent auto sprayer should be capable of mixing and matching it.

Interior seats, carpets from a mk4 golf or bora wil bolt straight in.

Dashboard bits and door card etc would need to from another Octavia. Ebay for breakers is your friend there, though the shipping cost could be your problem.

can I find a manual to download for fixing the car?

@akachi - Well, the most likely causes of a "courtesy light failure" are that they've been switched off (surprisingly hard to get them into automatic mode), burnt out bulb(s) (depends on specification) and failed "door open" detection. So does the door open warning light come on when you open a door?

If you don't want to tune the engine, the standard brakes are entirely adequate, and it's expensive to do more than better pads anyway, because you need to start swapping hub carriers and stub axles, calipers and caliper carriers to get above 280mm front discs, or fit discs at all if you have rear drums.

What Ken said about brakes is true.

Get decent quality discs and pads up front.

Then new drums, shoes, pistons and springs for the rears.

While your at it, throw 2 new hand brake cables in as well, odd are existing are stretched.

A full refresh did wonders on my old bucket.

Pagid do all the bits youll need and the quality is good, along with the price.

Just lobbing this in as a pointer.. got an email flyer from Eurocarparts

With an up to 50% off car parts promo being advertised.

I dunno what the shipping would be like to Saudi, but its a good site to get stuff, even with the shipping the cost might be reasonable.

@akachi - What he said, except that I wouldn't buy new wheel cylinders unless they're leaking (you can't buy pistons for drum brakes separately) or springs unless they're broken (all they do is pull the shoes back off the drums and a bit of anti-rattle)

Mine were binding if parked for more than a couple of days. Just said stuff it and did everything :D

Sorry, i meant cylinders, rather than pistons...

@akachi - What the garage told you is not true. You'd be retaining the same 5x100 PCD and centre spigot size so your choice of wheel would physically fit. Discs will look better than drums behind a spoked wheel such as the "spider" style on an Octavia vRS but this is less relevant behind something like a Compomotive TH https://www.comp.co.uk/wheels/motorsport.asp .

@mac11irl - I've only ever experienced brakes binding in a moist high relative humidity and salty environment. Since the OP lives in Saudi Arabia...
