None of the 6 wheelers were good looking though. Apart from the pre war Mercedes and Auto Union in hillclimb trim.

Fair enough; Their Italian name translates as "dual wheel" though, and they actually are 2 wheels on each end of a single axle rather than being 3 axle cars.

But at the other end of the vehicle of course. Would look a bit odd with 4 tyres at the front of a transit van. Probably good for initial turn in and then snap oversteer as the rear loses grip.

Nope, they were at the back for traction out of uphill bends

I've never seen an FWD "duallie" Transit.
