None of the 6 wheelers were good looking though. Apart from the pre war Mercedes and Auto Union in hillclimb trim.

Fair enough; Their Italian name translates as "dual wheel" though, and they actually are 2 wheels on each end of a single axle rather than being 3 axle cars.

But at the other end of the vehicle of course. Would look a bit odd with 4 tyres at the front of a transit van. Probably good for initial turn in and then snap oversteer as the rear loses grip.:nerd:

Nope, they were at the back for traction out of uphill bends

I've never seen an FWD "duallie" Transit.
