Skoda Superb Style Plus 2.0TSI 280hp

+Bigger fuel tank (70L)

congratulations on the new ride.  good choice of model and options.  however this particular one interests me - what do u mean by "bigger fuel tank"?

all the brochures state the Superb has a 65L tank.

or has this changed?

personally i doubt that the Superb ever came with only a 65L tank, because each time i fill up, when the car saying i've got approx. 50km range left, i put in between 68L and 71L!!!

hence my interest in ur mention.

i've had the car (i have the 220 MY17) now for just over 12 month, since new - not once have i put in anything less than 67L.

and i've used different petrol stations, in different states.

Well, in my country I had option to pay 15 euros for bigger fuel tank, I think standard is 60L but mine is about 70L. I can see that equipment list is little different in names but here Style Plus is just below L&K and it has a lot of standard like Colombus navigation with Europe maps, sunset, DAB, Front assist with adaptive cruise control up to 160km/h, 19" wheels and so on. I'm not sure that fuel tanks is identical as in UK, but who knows.

@penguin17 I had 2009, 2.0tdi diesel, so I'm so excited about all technology and all the power i have on daily basis. Fuel consumption is well above diesel model, but you can handle it if you have a  good self control, even below 7.5l/100km. I'm very happy with purchase and I'm gonna still post about it and stuff that I think is great and no so great because I'm driving it about a 150-200 km per day.

Thank you all !

Thats a nice car!!

the mk2 Superb has a 60L tank.

the mk3 Superb has a 66L tank.

the brochure from Skoda, not country specific, for the Superb states 66L as well.

doesn't matter wat petrol/diesel, hatch/wagon, dsg/manual, 2wd/awd, or model year - they all have the same tank capacity.

even though its 66L, many people have put in close to 70L or more, including myself.

i've never or heard of an "upgrade option" in relation the fuel tank capacity for the Superb, in any market!!

very strange.

i know Audi do offer fuel tank capacity upgrades.

maybe the salesman is trying to make some money out of u!!!!

Hi mate, I'm not really sure now about that, next time i top up the fuel from 50km range I'll let you know exactly how much fuel got in. Here is the link for optional equipment in my country and under code "1Z2" is saying Bigger quantity of fuel in fuel tank, http://www.autocentarstojanovic.rs/acms/download/21-1496898482-superb--dodatna-oprema.pdf

very interesting, and thank u for sharing that equipment list :)

Congratz and many happy kilometers @miloshst!

I was also surprised when I saw optional bigger fuel tank in your specs list. Never seen it as an option before

It made me digg out my last gas station reciept and it states that I tanked 68,33 L. As it was just couple of days ago, I remember that my tank was not bone dry and Maxidot stated happily that I still can go 50 or 60 km. It was in city so my current avarage consumption was probably a bit above 10 l/km so according to Maxidot I still had about 5 litres? of petrol in my tank. Wohooo, I got 73,33 litre fuel tank!!!:D:D:D

And we only have 66L tank availale in Estonia.

Most likely one can put more fuel in because of tubing. Fuel tank is 66-ish litres and fuel tanking tubes are not includes in calculations. How the hell can those tubes handle 9 litres, is out of the reach of my brain though.

Would be interested to see how much fuel you can put there. If I managed to put 68 litres with 50km to go, then you should be able to do around 71-73 litres at same level.

What was the price for fuel tank upgrade?

I normally fill up when it says I have about 50km range left.  I would put in about 68L of fuel.

a couple of times I refuelled when the range left was about 20km.  in these situation, i'd put about 70-72L of fuel.

I've had the car since new.  its been 12 months now - same story each time.

Your comment that fuel gauge does not show linear is spot on. After filling up, I can drive around pretty long before it starts moving at all.

yes, it doesn't move about first 100km

It is only 10 EUR for tank upgrade, but next time I'll wait for 50km range or less to top up and I will take picture how much of fuel got in, I didn't even think about that till now :)

Thank you for you pictures of filling up!

10 EUR? :o I don't think that Skoda Auto does anything for 10 eur. Even more curious about your first fillup:D

I can't find receipt for that fill up, but I think it was about 70L. But I'm also gonna wait now for range 50km or less and we'll see :)

I think most gauges are like that, I use it to my advantage with hire cars!

You and me both! Me and the Mrs once managed a ridiculous mileage from a Seat Leon 1.4tsi (and got lost) and still managed to hand it back looking full!

The last vehicle we hired must have been rented by you @facet edge....the gauge dropped after about 10 miles haha

I did stop by my dealer to figure out that thing about fuel tank. They said to me that factory fuel tank is 66L including 6L of reserve fuel and mine is 76L tank including 6L of reserve. So, for 10EUR i got 10L more.

I only have a 66l tank.  People going on about how much bigger 'their" tank is means I've now got tank envy.

@Muff - next time you have tank envy, drive straight past a petrol station, press the "car" button, read the result, whisper quietly "range envy" and be on your way with a smile:D.

@miloshst - cracking motor. Hope you enjoy it!

Range Envy - I've even got that as I am lucky to see more than 44mpg with my 190 DSG and I don't even thrash the engine.

Mind you could be worse. I could be getting sub 30 mpg .

err, how do you get that "journey info" page to the screen?

I have never seen it.
