Being in Glasgow does not mean much it could have been anyplace and every place, Inverness, Perth or Devon.

Where was the Car First Registered, so what is the first 2 letters of the registration?

Is it £2,000-£3,000 cheaper than PL66 YPY on sale at Rainsworth Motors for a £17,566 Asking Price?

No it is not - but that is a manual and I am only after a Black L&K 2.0 Tdi 150PS DSG i.e. Auto

Reg is OE66

The car you refer to: https://rainworthmotorsskodamansfield.usedcars.skoda.co.uk/en/used-cars/skoda/yeti/20tdi-scr-150ps-4x4-laurinklement-outdoor-p1bnab4

It has Nexen tyres on it as well so I think it does look like new ones have had Nexen tyres fitted by the factory.

Reduces my concern the car was thrashed and had to have new tyre's after only 8k miles.

Thank you all again for your thoughts - much appreciated.

My 17 plate 2.0 4x4 Yeti has Nexan tyres as the original fit. They're absolutely fine!

My car has now done 15k miles and the tyres are hardly worn, and it is a 4x4 150dsg.

On my previous Greenline, which was a lease car, the tyres were all original when it went back at 45K and the fronts still had at least 5k left. Rears almost unworn. (Very underpowered 2wd though so they should last a lot longer!)

Tyres seem to be lasting longer, my first 2010 yeti went through front tyres at around 25k, and rears at 60k

Excellent news thank you

A 5 year old Fabia TDI is a Euro 5 and one of the 11 million with Defeat Device Engine Management and really not much of a comparison.

I am only saying that it is a fallacy that in my experience diesels have to do huge mileages to stay healthy. The correct use with some longer trips is sufficient even if overall mileage is low.

The perception given on here that you have to carry on driving for 30+ miles if you notice the engine fans running on due to an interrupted regen  is also daft. THis is only required if the exhaust warning light comes on, which it never has on my wifes car.

Our 66 plate had Nexens on it as original fit. fine so far, about half worn at 9500 miles.

Worth checking it’s not an ex right off seeing where it’s coming from.

Thing is given its from an accident service company who carry out repairs so it would be hard to know if a customer had an accident in it and then they fixed it up themselves.

More likely it was a lease car for use as a courtesy car that they are moving on at the end of the lease period to get as much cash as they can?

I  would be buying it from motorpoint who have stated it is accident clear.

Anyway, went in to a Skoda dealer today and had a chat with a salesman who said he wouldn't be concerned if the car is in good condition. Had a listen to the 2.0 diesel engine and was at least pleasantly surprised it doesn't sound as agricultural as I thought it could have.

HPI Checks only know about damage when an Insurance Company is involved and claims made.

Not something Repairers and even Dealers are normally doing, so as with everything mechanical you buy on condition.

If any car is easy to look for previous damage with or poor repairs it is a black one.

Always worth a HPI check as you are getting from a repair company which are the most likely people to repair a cat x write off and use it as a loan car for a while then sell it on,or am I being a bit too suspicious?.................best of luck with your enquiries.

It's one owner apparently but I think for the sake of £20 it's worth running that.

I am incredibility suspicious!

One Registered Keeper, a lease company,

but then about half the under 3 year old passenger cars in the UK are the same.

Well, thanks to all for the advice this past week.

I went to see the car this afternoon. It had a couple of very small chips on the passenger side door that had been touched in but was in perfect nick apart from that. Looked like new.

I had a drive and no issues. Not having driven one before it did seem to have little switch about looking for the right gear at times (DSG) but plenty of poke and refined at speed.

Pulling away at a roundabout or out of a junction would take a bit of getting used to from the DSG  - nothing happens for that half a second when you put your foot down. Is that normal?

So all was good but then noticed the headlining had some damage above the rear seats. It was a small hole that had been patched and this would have irked me and so I left the car. They weren't prepared to replace it (probably costa fortune to do so?)

It bothered me knowing that it wouldn't have been as well cared for as if owned by someone during its time as a courtesy car.  As the headlining was damaged that was evidence of that kind of life. Maybe a silly decision to pass on it but there we go.

I really liked it and it fulfils my needs but I may consider a black SE L Drive as the L&Ks in the spec I want are a bit thin on the ground.

The Drive SE L has black leather and no sunroof vs the L&K's brown leather with sunroof is the key difference that I can tell? I wanted the sunroof but perhaps not such a big deal.

Welcome thoughts and cheers all.

This is quite normal. Some drivers never get used to it, but most develop the skill to anticipate when they are going, and just put their foot down a bit earlier.  You can speed it up slightly by two-foot driving.

Hmm, I didn't like it much I have to say.

If you compare the l and k full spec it has quite a bit as std but not that you may want it ,apart from the panoramic roof and brown leather seats mine also had heated windscreen ,auto  asst parking with 12 censors ,rear view camera,Columbus satnav with DAB,bi xenon lights, auto dim interior and drivers wing  mirror.

Martin (gizmo) has a l&k yeti fir sale in the cars for sale section. I know the car and see it at the maidstone meet regularly. Mileage is higher and it’s older than you are looking for, though the car is like new and you save yourself a considerable amount. Martin is seriously obsessive when it comes to looking after his and his wife’s cars, she has had the yeti from new. would have snapped his hand off for it but it came up after I’d already purchased a car for my other half. It’s worth considering imo.

Thanks for the pointer but I want a black one and it has to be a 150 engine variant as it needs to be Euro 6 complaint. I live in London and the emissions tax is a killer if you're not euro 6. It will be £12.50 a day just to drive anywhere within the north and south circ.

I like other people's in jungle green : )
