Need help with window

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I need to find a window for my Skoda Fabia Estate 2003. It has been shattered. But the problem I have is, that I don't know the name/type of the window. Please help.
I've marked in red the window I'm after.
Please tell me how is it called and possibly where I can look for one, I'm based in Portsmouth.
Kind regards

Should be part number 6Y9845209B for clear glass.

Or 6Y9845209C for green tinted.

Standard motor trade nomenclature would be:

Nearside rear passenger door quarter light

Windscreen fitters would know exactly what you wanted if you asked for a quote like that.

I had an attempted theft of my polo classic which is a Y reg (must have been a desperate criminal) who smashed the rear door quarterlight and couldn't find a replacement  from VW or from the web. Took it to Autoglass and they found one with the correct tint etc with no problem at all.

Sorry, wasn't Autoglass. Was 'National Windscreens'.

In the days before VW owned Skoda my wifes Favorit was broken into. She rang the Skoda dealer who said "bring it in immediately" and they took a window out of a showroom car and sent her on her way in a little over 40 minutes. Ditto when the distributor failed. They sent somebody out on a saturday lunchtime to where we had broken down and fitted a temporary replacement. Time off road was exactly one hour.

I do miss the friendly family run Skoda dealerships. They were treated very badly by VW when they took over.

Just out of interest - was it a used showroom car they took the window from? Surely wasn't a new one?

I agree about the old family-run Skoda dealers. Much more helpful and friendly than the faceless VAG empire. I had a fondness for the old rear-engined Skodas too. Had several of them and even ended up getting some friends and family to buy them :D

It was a brand new car they took the window out of and the new window was back in the showroom car about a day later when they got their spares delivery and I went in to pay the bill. No new car buying customers were injured in the making of this mini saga

Wow, really amazed about that. I worked at a Ford dealer and we would never have been allowed to take bits off new cars. Good stuff though!
