Just wondered ronster007 if you got to the bottom of the rattle? I get it but it's always when I am driving so I can't examine every cubby hole on the passenger side and the wife says it's on my side of the car......so stalemate!

Nope not as yet. Hoping it settles down as everything beds in. Will see if it continues longer term

I had a rattle a while ago but it kind of sounded a bit like rain which was really odd as it wasn't raining!  In the end I opened and closed the air vent to the right of the steering wheel and the rattle went.  Really don't know what it was.

Copious notes taken so as to try tomorrow:thumbup:

I’ve noticed intermittent rattled from the dash and drivers door, only sine the weather has been warmer though, certainly in the door when I’ve put the window up, it settles down but it’s annoying.

Did tge rattle settle or have you figured out the cause?

I believe I have the same rattle. New vehicle.

Not always. Only on rough surfaces but not over potholes and when its warm outside (thinking temeperature difference).

Tnx

1.5 SE-L, no rattles thankfully as my pet hate in any car is a rattle and the Qashqai I swapped had multiple rattles for three years of ownership.

No still there but funnily enough has only come back since it has been a little bit milder

I believe i figured out where the rattle comes from.

Weirdly it's tle plastic behind the rear mirror, i.e. somekind of plastic cap attached to the mirror holder between the windshield and the mirror.

Would have swore it was AC or something in the dash, but it makes sense. It is above the dash but below the roof, definitely exposed to temperature changes (sun / AC) and in the middle with respect to the driver and front passenger.

Best regards

Were you able to resolve the rattle?

Yes, simply holding moving the bottom of the holder but it's definitely temporary. I figure some silicon oil or similar popular solution my do the trick long term, since there is minimum amount of movement that causes the rattle.

I need to obtain some silicone oil first though, since I only pin pointed the source of rattle yesterday.

Without reading throught similar topics, what is considered the silicon oil or solution of choice?

I get rattles from the roof storage space. If i leave it open the rattling stops.

I get rattles from the right rear window, if i leave it just a bit lowered it stops rattling.

I get rattles from the plastic trims around the speedometer display.

I get rattles from just about anything i leave in the storage spaces around the car and on doors.

Skoda Karoq 2.0 TDI Sportline 2019.

I had this noise/rattle on both of my Karoq’s, rattle traced to the plastic cover, covering the sensors on the windscreen, in front of the rear view mirror. Quick tweak, no more rattling, only happen when it was warm and with the sun shining in through the windscreen.

Recently started to hear a rattle from the window switches in the drivers door, resting a hand on it stops. Mildly irritating.

I had the same from the Window Lock button, it really rattled.

I didn't want to risk breaking something prizing out the assembly so I doubled over a small piece of black masking tape and slipped it down the side of the button to take up the gap. It doesn't rattle anymore and the button still functions properly.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, it's that button without a doubt, very rattlly. Will try the tape trick.

Pleased to report a bit of folded tape has stopped the rattle.

2019 Sportline 2.0 TSI and there is a definite rattle from the instrument binacle which is a) made from very cheap/hard plastic and b) quite loosely fitted so it can move around. quite often if you go through a pot hole or over some rough ground it will start rattling and you can stop it by jiggling it around a little. Not go around to taking it back to the dealers yet.

Forgot to say - the Yeti was notorious and it was usually the instrument surrounds (rev counter/ speedo) but the Karoq has eliminated these

glad to hear that, i will probably replace my 17 reg yeti with a Karoq, but was worried when reading this article !  however, i do find that most rattles and squeaks are temperature related ie they disappear when the car warms up and not noticeable in the summer

I'd agree. I has some rattles from the instrument panel in very cold weather last February or so, but not at any other times.

I had an annoying rattle from the drivers door hadle (inside) area and the "disable rear electric windows" switch was the culprit.  Few other rattles in that area were resolved with some very thin plastic wedges like these:   https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274487816271 . You can trim them and shape them and such like so they are pretty much invisible.  Obviously get the right colour for the area but black sited me.  Also, if you have a guitar you can play a nice tune to reward yourself at a job well done :-)   I suspect someone had the door trim off at some point (I am the 2nd owner as it was an ex demonstrator/Skoda UK pool car from new).....

I've had my new Karoq Sportline 3 weeks and not noticed any rattle till I took it down the motorway this weekend.

Whenever we got over 65 mph the rattle seemed to come from the opposite side to the driver or passenger.

The passenger tried touching and opening stuff but could not track it down.

I will try the rear view mirror tonight. There is a dash cam fitted next to it so that may be the culprit too.

I have rattle  during winter when the engine is cold. Disappears as engine gets warm. Around 2000 rpm, lower and higher rpm’s rattle dissappears.
Plot twist…same rattle appears during summer but only when engine temp gets at full working temperature and air temperature is around 30c and more. Again around 2000 rpm, lower and higher rpm’s rattle dissapears. But it stays as long as engine is arrond 2000 rpm’s. Maybe the car is constructed only for spring and fall. 😂

Sometimes, for the summer part of the story, temporary cure is to lift the bonnet for few mins and close it , that rubber part in engine bay (just below plastic trim on the bottom of the windscreen) seems like its sticky when touching bonnet for too long.
Solution so far, stereo volume up. 😁

My car developed a rattle from drivers door area, tracked it down to the big button that isolates the rear Windows, explained to dealership receptionist and when in for the 1st service they replaced the switch pack, that stopped the rattling. Car had the second service a few weeks ago and I mentioned there was a slight rattle from drivers door again as before but they said they couldn’t locate any rattle? Now the rattle is worse and is the same button as before, it stops if you rest a finger lightly on the rear window isolation button, will be booking car in again for the possible replacement of the switch pack again.
