Air Con regassing with R1234YF gas

Featured Replies

Very strange my car was bought new in april 2015 and checking the info plate inside the car my a/c has the old version R-134a 475g +/- 15g  Oil PAG SAE J639 so when did they change to the new more expensive gas Joe

Joe, the fact that your car has a continuously connected compressor is why the inner surfaces are staying oiled, nothing to do with you keeping the A/C on auto etc.

2017 has the point in time that all cars needed to have changed to R1234yf, as detailed either here or on the other associated thread.

Also, don't worry, our old R134A will be become the more expensive fridge gas used in cars before too long.
