Octavia MK2 1.6tdi - Boot will not open!

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I own an Octavia Mk2 1.6 tdi Kombi/Estate 2010. Manual.

Suddenly the boot will not open with the central locking. What can I do ?

Thanks in advance.

Does the boot open if you first open and close one of the rear doors? Sounds weird but try it. If that is the case it usually is a microswitch in the drivers door that has failed.

Mine has started doing this. Annoying.

Thanks Nick. I just spent half an hour trying all your suggestions, and sadly nothing changed. So back to the drawing board.

I am still cooling down after paying out for a new EGR back in March this year, so very reluctant to asking the garage for any help.

What can I do ?

Ouch! That's a hefty bill!

A lot of our local taxi firms with the 1.6 TDi all seem to have their EML light on the dash glowing. I guess they all need an EGR replacement

If your car had the emissions fix before the EGR went, Skoda should refund you for the new EGR as part of their "trust building" measures...
