Just wondered if dealers have the technology available to get a few moe bhp out of the 1.8T via modifications to the ECU, ie remapping etc or is it only people like Jabba who do it?

For reasons well documented you'd be lucky to find a dealer who appreciates modifications to the car in the first place.

Sorry if you are getting the impression the subject is banned from discussion. It is actually to protect the dealers from being named and found out by Skoda UK who comes down hard on them. And that's a shame.

Test drove a Fabia vRS at a dealers recently. He unplugged the 'Chip' before my test drive.....

I may be going back to try it with the chip in...

Done some work to a cop car a while back that had a brake switch fault.The car went like a rocket. Traced the problem to the ECU which I replaced with a new item. Afterwards the car wasn't nearly as responsive or revvy,(TEE, HEE,HEE!) but the brake problem was cured. My conclusion was that someone is chipping Smokey's Skodas as they have another one which still goes extremely well!

Oh, and i'm reliably informed that Cleveland have NOT chipped their vRS fleet....could be a bit of a bluff though

I've also been told (by a rozzer) that Cumbria police have not breathed on their marked or unmarked Tavia's.

He also confirmed that Lord Lucan was in custody, Shergar was on his way home and that speed cameras are not for raising money.

Yeah, they are all estates that we deal with & I'm pretty sure that they are Elegance's. They have an undercover one too the crafty ****s, although that is a saloon. I don't know about the Huntingdon ones though as I'm pretty sure ours are based in March. They're obviously too quick because they keep ripping the sumps off them!
